I made my first video for Grim Dawn: My time at Port Valbury ft. Loxmere Nightmage

Hi all,

My name’s Greonix and I’m a new streamer / content creator.
First of all I’d like to say I’m really excited about the new expansion coming up and I’m hoping on making loads of content for new & veteran players alike.

I’ve got 500+ hours in GD as of right now and mainly play in hardcore.

Today I’ve published my first video for Grim Dawn and wanted to share it here.
It’s about my adventure in doing the roguelite dungeon Port Valbury for the first time, the version I played was the 1.3 test patch version where Loxmere spawns exclusively in Port Valbury. I had never faced him before this fight.

I hope you enjoy and if you like come hang out in my stream when I’m on, I’ll see ya there!

NGL Sound effects like FFFAAAA and NANI are kinda fun, but get old really quickly in the span of one video.
The music though… to my taste, it’s atrocious.
Unless catering to a 12 y.o. audience, then no questions.

GD has a wonderful soundtrack that blends perfectly with the surrounding.
I would watch such content we the base music instead of the edit.
Occasional meme sounds are fine (if not overused).

Also quite some questions to the gameplay itself (Kiting forwards instead of backwards on HC in the dungeon?), but that’s beside the point.

All the best to you in these endeavours.
Congratz on surviving that initial SS, that was a heart-attack territory.

Thanks for the feedback!

The soundtrack for GD is indeed wonderful, unfortunately I can’t appease to everyone’s senses but what I did do is make a video that I thought would be most entertaining.

About the kiting part, I wanted space to go back and forth and kiting back to where I came from (the little house and the stairs) seemed like a deathtrap to me at the time because of the limited space and more possibility for wrongfully pathing, which happens often in small corridors.

Cheers!

btw/unsure if you knew or did it already,
but if you clear the Outcast quests(anasteria) you can get an extra hero?boss?/Thelon spawn on that stretch, which could have been extra fun; had you accidentally pulled 3 while running :skull:

Thanks Gnomish_Inquisition,

Haha glad to hear you liked it.

Zantai I need my achievement

By clear you mean allying with her and finishing all the quests, right?

I think I have a total of one character among 20+ where I bothered to do so.
Wander what’s the extra boss in PV.

Kiting forwards? #Magi-approved

Consider turning off screen shake, and I realise why you did it, but the jump cuts are disorienting as hell. Along with the music/sfx etc it made the whole thing feel a bit like ADHD: The Movie.

Other than that, one of the (actually not too bad) first efforts of all time :muscle: Keep it up

Thanks Magipher, awesome to hear!

Yeah I actually turned screen shake off a bit later when I was fighting the boss in the Colosseum side-area in Old-Arkovia…

Thanks for the tips

What are you trying to get me into here? :joy:

This music is atrocious dude, do you want to minimize the number of views?
