I need help

Hello everyone,

I’ve hit a brickwall and don’t know what to do, I was hoping perhaps someone has some insight.

I am a level 76 cabalist (pet build) and cannot proceed further in the game (elite diff.).
I’m stuck on the quest “prevent the summoning of Loghorrean”.

I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do, my summons die too quickly and it feels like I get one shotted. I’ve tried joining a multiplayer game but no luck in that area.

it would be more useful; to post images of your build, and what devotions your using. without that, it will be very difficult to advice you.

Go here: https://www.grimtools.com/calc

Click on the arrow mark like button on the top left, follow the instructions and upload your build. Then Click on the button right below (looks like “<”) and copy/paste the link here.

Hi guys,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly!
I will need to increase my post limit to be able to post a link…

If you have any questions let me know & thanks again!

How was your guys’s day ?
Hyped for Forgotten Gods?

Here’s the link to my build as requested

You can create a number of posts in this thread for that: http://grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48496

Max out Vulnerability skill, take Shepherd’s Crook and Manticore devotions.

Items can be certainly better, but I can’t comment on that without knowing what else you have.

Also, you don’t have any relics equipped. Try to craft something like Dirge of Arkovia, or at the very least buy the Hysteria Relic from Homestead.

Also, resistances are important. Try to get your faction repurations up enough to buy augments and use them on your equipment.

More optimizations can be made, but I am not that versed with cabalists, so someone else will be of more help.

Using any relic will help, order of preference would be:

  • Mogdrogen’s Ardor (when you hit level 90)
  • Dirge of Akrovia
  • Mortality
  • Deathchill
  • Ancestor
  • Guile
  • Hysteria

Generally, you want to focus on ~2 main pet skill trees and put the rest in to buffs. In some cases 3 makes sense, but not until end game if you have extra points. Regarding the various buffs (all of the skill point numbers I list are including skill bonuses):

  • Always have at least 12/12 in Manipulation. The speed is hugely important. Don’t invest beyond 12/12 unless you have tons of extra points.
  • Try to keep Master of Death at 12/12, additional points help less and are thus better spent elsewhere.
  • Try to keep Storm Spirit at 12/12, the resistance is very useful. If you have extra points you can go higher but it is not a priority.
  • Don’t invest in Hellfire unless and until you are going full chaos. It’s useful but you need the points more elsewhere.
  • Put as many points as possible into Blood of Dreeg, it is a very important instant heal for both you and your pets, along with providing regen, OA, and some flat damage.
  • Aim to have Aspect of the Guardian at 12/12. It provides great physical and poison resistance but doesn’t scale well past the soft cap
  • If you’re main damage is physical, keep Curse of Frailty at 10/10, otherwise keep it at 5/10 to give decent area and duration while keeping Vulnerablity at 10/10
  • Call of the Grave is only worth it if you have tons of extra skill points to spend. I usually use one point + skill bonuses for a small buff, but otherwise there are usually better places to put points.

For your current setup specifically, move the points from Hellfire into Storm Spirit.

Take 4 points out of Master of Death, all points out of the Blight Fiend tree, 10 points out of Call of the Grave, and 15 points out of Hellhound. That will allow you to max out the Occultist mastery and take 12/12 Manipulation with a few points left over. You can put those into Vulnerablity or Blood of Dreeg.

Try to find as much gear as possible with either +necromancer skills or +raise skeleton. That will serve you better than anything else at your current point.

I can’t really look at your devotions on my phone, but I’d trust Maya’s advice there

Hey guys, I wanted to thank you formally for taking the time in writing your posts, it helped immensely!

I didn’t even know about these “relics” haha I feel silly :stuck_out_tongue:

Although, I didn’t have enough iron bits to do everything that was suggested…
From what I did manage to do my army is a lot stronger! I was killing elites quite easily and even managed to kill that final boss to move onto Ashes of Malmouth portion of the game! Woot !

Many thanks,
Cheers !

Relics are put in the empty slot to the left of your belt. You craft them in Devils Crossing after doing the quest The Tale of Two Smiths (or something…) or in some other major hubs. You need to have blueprints, however, which is problematic. If you’re on steam, it’s best to ask people to craft relics you don’t have blueprints for.

and if nothing else you can always pinch the bone talisman from the rovers while you wait until you can craft a better relic
