Raise the Dead: pet duration increased to 40s by max rank. Skeletons now deal aether and vitality damage and scale with player bonuses, rather than scaling with pet bonuses. This proc has always been a bit of a niche, but as other options already exist via itemization for more hybrid pet summoning builds, it seemed better to focus Raise the Dead to be an option for direct damage builds that like the idea of having pets around but not necessarily excel at them. Damage may require further refinement, but the skeletons are now harder to kill, move faster and last longer.
So… WTF would I build to maximize aether AND vitality damage? I think there’s no devotion or equips that gives both, or am I wrong ?
converts 30% aether to chaos
Are the skeletons affected by this? since they now scale with player bonuses?
Are there more equips that convert aether to chaos? if so, the skeletons doing chaos and vitality damage… I could do a chaos AAR build proccing raise the dead since it is fire, chaos and vitality
Far as I know thats the only one that converts Aether to Chaos and yes the skellies will be affected by it.
Yes the Aether/Vitality MI’s are very rare, would never of thought about doing it if the Chest didn’t drop on another character
Forget about the damage of the skeletons - it is going to be pathetic no matter what. What you are really there for is the distraction + slow the provide plus the ADctH and other bonuses on the way.
My first and only idea was to use it with AAR character, but then I have to bind Arcane Bomb to something else. Warlocks can bind Arcane Bomb to CoF, but what about Sorcs and Battlemages?.. =/
Edit: technically any Clairvoyant occultist will do aether-vitality damage with SoC and Doom Bolt, but then you will have plenty of %aether and no %vitality. Pretty much the reason I bloody hate Clairvoyant set.
I guess another option is to convert things the other way - stick on some Clairvoyant gear and/or Albrecht’s Duality rings and you’ll have around 100% chaos to aether conversion. Gearing could still be a bit of a pain elsewhere, but you might be able to make a decent “aether”/vitality Warlock (or something) out of it.
Still, I suspect they’re simply repurposing this skill for what I imagine might be an Aether/Vitality focused Reanimator-style class coming in the expansion. If that happens to be the case, Raise the Dead might suddenly become a whole lot more useful.
holy cow! it looks do bad… they are still slow as hell and doesnt do any damage… I’m really sad, cause it´s impossible they even tested it, cause nobody can like this as it is.
Guess I’ll wait for 1.0.0.9 or expansion
