I'd appreciate some suggestions

Hello,

I have a support deceiver character at the endgame of AoM.
Can anyone of you argue for some better item alternatives?

Here’s a thread that talks a lot about support deceivers.

I leveled up one a while back to run with a friend who had just started playing. that way he got to kill all the stuff. Mine was a different build based off of another thread that I cannot for the life of me find. it has different gearing, and much harder to actually gear for. The greens are all replaceable in order to stack your resists and stuff. I’d been playing for a long time so had a huge stash of stuff to pull from once we reached 94. But I ran it with modifications as we were leveling too. https://www.grimtools.com/calc/4NO066o2

You can probably glean all sorts of ideas from these two. I wish I could remember who did the thread/build I used. it was a couple years old.

I’d love to give you some suggestions but I’m struggling to understand what that build is for. Every piece of gear says something different. There’s no damage skill taken. Devotions also don’t go in any specific direction of any specific damage type.

The support deceiver I run dual wields mythical touch of purity. I prefer this to the sacred texts as it allows me to maintain the team’s invulnerability to DoT effects and also functions as an additional spot heal.

For me there’s no better choice for gloves than Apothecarys on this build. Bind Healing Rain to the granted skill.

Dual wielding is a really good idea. Unfortunately I’d have to swap either the medal or the relic to enable dual wield.
P.P.S.: I just found out about this helmet. https://www.grimtools.com/db/items/13754 Seems really good to me. Nice boost and also enables dualwield.

What about Dark Ones gauntlets? It grants damage reduction to Pox if I am correct.
Why would I bind Healing Rain to the granted skill? Are you suggesting that being able to decide when Healing Rain procs is worth it?

It is merely a fun build, but you are right. I could focus on more general resistance reduction buffs and damage amplifiers.
However you do understand that this is a full support build, right?

P.S.: I changed some of the devotions. I took Dying God because it extends to allies and increases crit damage by a lot. I also equipped Ravagers Dreadgaze for more all res reduction.

Healing rain on demand is phenomenal, and on the Healing skill from the gloves it almost always works exactly when you want it to if you’re playing support like a combat medic.

Which brings me to my second point, my build is designed for the playstyle I enjoy most- multiplayer in a 4 man squad, where the others do the majority of the fighting and I am basically a walking recurring Healing spell with secondary function as a debuffer. I prefer to let those concentrating on offense worry about the majority of offense type stuff. The RR from word of pain and curse of Frailty is good enough as a fluff piece that I toss in between harder hitting characters. My main purpose is to heal, stop DoTs, and buff the party. That’s really all I focus on when I use him. That’s just how I like to play it though. I don’t ever use it single player.

Here is my support deceiver, currently playing around with it using the shattered realm set. Remember, this is a healer primarily and NOT a very capable fighter on its own. Multiplayer only. Also, weirdly, grimtools fails to recognize the 100% proc rate of Healing Rain when bound to Apothecary’s gloves…

Touchwitch

Does White Lotus proc on allies aswell?

Unfortunately, no. That would be cool as shit if it did.

It seems like everyone here has tried different approaches to the support deceiver. Every one of us has @the8anarchist to thank for it. He is the grandmaster of this build. But you are in the right place to ask questions and discuss thoughts on the build as everyone here would doubtless be interested in further discussion on this dark horse. It may not be the most powerful build on its own but whenever people play in the same party as any one of us, they will experience some of the best runs ever.
