IEE confusion...

SO I look at IEE and some of it is pretty clear to me but the question I have is this:

Say I have rank 12 IEE, it states that I convert 25% of my physical damage to Elemental. The game mechanics guide states that % of Elemental bonus COnverts to All 3 damage types. Say for example I do 1000 physical damage, with my weapon, does that mean that I get 250 damage x3 each element type? Or does it just covert the 250 to 80 ish for cold, lightning and fire?

You are looking at the second explanation, 80 dang each of fire, cold and lightning.
