Maybe my RNG this particular game is just really weird, so I don’t know if it’s a bug, but does anyone else go through all the immigrants when they get them?
Whenever I get the notif about immigrants, I click the magnifying glass (because I rename everyone) to go through them all. I’ve been playing this game for quite a while but since the last update, I’ve noticed that whenever I get 15 or more immigrants at one time, they are ALL men. If it’s just 4-6 immigrants coming in at once, then the man to woman ratio varies as normal. But whenever it’s a larger number, it’s ALL men. Every time. (I’m in year 19).
I know in the end this probably doesn’t make a huge difference cos of how the game works but it does seem a bit odd to me. Anyone else noticing this problem?
To be fair, that has been part of the game since the beginning. Men and women aren’t different in any way except how they look, and women work as miners, lumberjacks and soldiers just as efficiently as men.
Although it would be interesting if men and women were different (men being more efficient when they do physically taxing work, women being required to give birth and be out of the labor pool for a while), I don’t mind the way it works now.
Oh it’s definitely not always been the case lol. I started playing Dec 2022 and used to cycle through large immigrant influxes and there were always at least a few women in them (or at least most of the time there was at least one). It’s probably always favored men to an extent but not THIS extent lol
I’ve done two maps now since last release and any time the immigrant count is more than 8, it’s all men. Women don’t immigrate here anymore unless they come in groups of 7 or less. But like you said, this is definitely not a game-breaking issue since it truly doesn’t affect the game so I didn’t feel it was worth reporting as a potential bug. I’m probably the only one affected cos I’m renaming each person and going “man I’m running out of boy name ideas”.
(and also going “hmm this kind of population ratio is a recipe for a pretty dystopian society” xD)
