In which case would cadence be better than savagery?

Not only with warder, but if I want for example a bleed build with cadence and frailty, would it be good? or blade arc is better? Is it good for internal trauma? I’m asking because I want to know the use case for cadence which seems pretty underwhelming looking superficially. Thanks

It’s good for phys builds but that’s it I think. My blademaster gets good use out of it since I use mainly phys/bleeding but I wouldn’t use it if I wanted any other type of damage.

Is there a case where it could be better for a phys, piercing, trauma build with dual pistols when using with demolitionist, it pierces through enemies and deals this kind of damage so it could be better than fire strike…

Cadence is rather weak right now. It’s not horrible, but it’s a it weak in comparison.

The best builds for Cadence would be physical or pierce damage, or perhaps elemental if you go Discord (though I can’t imagine it being much better than Shard of Beronath, if at all). Pierce works only because pierce conversion on weapons applies to the flat physical damage on any skill that deals % weapon damage.

hum, then cadence with discord would be good for a blademaster because cold is an elemental damage >.<? dang my head hurts. the physical aspect is not very solid in the soldier tree, the only strong physical buffs are in the demolitionist and shaman tree, soldier has very good physical damage skills, maybe there should be a motive why cadence have this stats =p

Cadence is so weird , maybe crate can shed light on the idea behind why it is so

The more attack speed you have the better Cadence becomes, and honestly it seems a better ranged attack than melee, especially if you put a proc on it that can go off on multiple enemies like Windigo’s Mark, Assassin’s Mark, Eldrich Flame, or Aetherfire (EDIT: And Rend). The one advantage Cadence has over Brimstone is that it can trigger procs with more frequency because it can generate more hits. Brim Stone is really strong and I think both easier to build around and strong overall but Cadence does let you do some interesting things I think. This applies to Savagery too imo.

The Arcanum Sigillis legendary pistol seems made with a dual pistol Battle Mage in mind. Given it’s own effect and the Elemental Exchange skill line, a dual pistol Battle Mage is an interesting option (at least to me).

There’s also good synergy between Cadence and the Solael’s Witchfire skill line, and a dual pistol Blade Master might be interesting with a weapon like Death Dealer’s Sidearm.

from my experience, savagery is better for physical dmg builds than cadence period.

Possibly when you’re ranged. Cadence works surprisingly well with a rifle.

Thanks for all the ideas guys, now it makes more sense to build cadence with ranged builds, I’m thinking into 3 types of dual pistols, an elemental battlemage, a physical commando and a physical/littlechaos witchblade

I have a mid-20s ranged DW Cadence going. It feels okay. Brings a new meaning to “lining up the perfect shot.” Still not sure when I want to go with it; Battlemage with Discord could be nice, but a part of me really wants physical. Best for that would probably be Commando, but I would feel silly not going Fire Strike instead. Not having many ranged physical Devotion options doesn’t help.

Good luck!

Fortunately there’s abundant sources of Physical damage in gear. Death Dealer’s Side Arm is ideal. Carrying two would give +2 to Cadence and +2 to all soldier skills (so Cadence would be at 20). Havoc I think looks interesting too, but I’d actually want to get my hands on one to toy with it before praising its laurels.

On the two handed side of things, Silverbolt is a nice weapon if you want to extend Physical damage into Piercing damage. Gutripper for Bleeding (+3 to fighting form and deadly momentum).

Really for a ranged Commando using Cadence there’s the entire Valdun gear set, which is catered towards using Cadence rather than Firestrike and the bonus’ are nice.

yeah, its strange to see that fire strike is good for both physical and elemental damage, I made some calculations and 3 fire strikes with explosive strike has a little over the same physical damage as 2 normal hits and 1 cadence, but factoring the weapon damage fire strike gets the edge with 450% wep dmg instead of 435% of cadence, but I think that cadence hits everybody with the same dmg and fire strike just hits 30% to nearby enemies, maybe thats the balancing factor

I just thought a little more, maybe cadence is stronger towards dual wield and fire strike with searing strike towards two handed

While Fire Strike (Explosive Strike) deals the AoE damage only when wielding a ranged weapon.
