Who’s ready for the ironman playthrough?
Nice, i already play the game with an unofficial iroman mentality - nice to see some official framework to lock me into my bad choices
When does the 0.9.6 playtest go live on Steam?
curious, will any new map types appear at some point in time? Also ar hotkeys or keybinds in the works?
Playtest will start Monday.
New maps are unlikely for v1.0. Not sure what you mean about keybinds. They have been in the game since the beginning.
Keybind to move/set work areas, when moving blueberry bushes and stuff would be great to just press a button to move it, especially now that we can also move through buildings like hunters cabin and stuff with arrows
Can you add options to make vanquisher mode harder?
For example:
- Number of raiders increased x 3
- Plague increased x 3
- Crop disease increased x3
…
Vanquisher mode is still too easy
Agreed, late game is getting bored. Even with Vanquisher difficulty.
I think the game should add something like:
+Robber on streets
+Event/Festival in the city(Consume golds+foods+etc…) for people to enjoy.
+Crowd strike
+Politics
to make manage city more interesting in the late game
tag. me. in.
They say it starts on Monday… Even though they usually communicate well, they don’t communicate like this. It seems like they did it on purpose…
It’s just mid afternoon monday, in Hawaii. Maybe they will make it still. Edit: They met their promise, download started…
I tried accessing Steam and downloading it again and again, but it’s still version 0.9.5. I don’t know why.
Welcome to the forum.
Because you need to join the forum here which you’ve done and then follow the instructions in the Playtest FAQ thread which you can find in the Public Play Test Discussion section of the forum.
I’ve actually been wanting a change like this for a while. I regularly choose “Arid Highlands” and with all the mineral wealth, it’s still too easy. Thumbs up on this one.
Seems like it would be good to crank up raider frequency/size too. Perhaps make them more aggressive (trying to kill the villagers instead of just plundering).
With forageables set to none, was it intentional to allow for tier 2 foragers to plant items still:
If it is, cool, though it makes this ironman challenge a little bit easier. Also having that many wolves pretty much lowers the raider difficulty as the raiders often are heavily damaged by the time they got close to my village
Okay, started a town with no raider/animal attacks just to see if they would attack or not. Haven’t found a raider camp on the map yet, but have some boars and no they don’t attack villagers though the warning of predators attacking does appear sometimes.
Not sure what the point of it is though. If they don’t attack then what’s the point of having animals like wolves and boars on your map? Hunters won’t attack them unless you directly tell them to which is more micro-management and I assume defense towers won’t shoot them since they’re not attacking villagers so can’t get their meat that way. They sit there and look pretty and that’s it?
I could see the wolves/boars as a design aesthetic, like ambience/audio/visual, if you’re purely just building with the new 9.6 version. Did I mention that I LOVE the new stuff?
I’m ready for any kind of challenge as soon as I have constant 100fps
As a brand new player. The only things I can see missing from this game is 1: some kind of campaigns or missions, some kind of goal to work towards.
2: A menu like the people button or the stock button that shows all the buidlings I have made, and be able to hit a button and go to that specific building, as at the moment trying to find a certain building is beyond frustrating. By the time I have clicked all my buildings and found the one I want, something happens like a raid or animal attack so I have to deal with that, then I can’t remember where the building is and I have start all over again searching for it. Yeah, this is the ‘driving me nuts’ part of the game.
Other than those two things, I love the game!
