You can pause the game to search for buildings. You can also open the profession list and click the spyglass next to the profession which matches the building you’re looking for. If that person is not in the building, click the spyglass again to cycle to the next one until you find one in or near the building. Then once in the building UI, you can use the arrows at the top of it to cycle between numerous iterations of that building if you have more on the map.
Not sure if Crate granted your wish or if I was just unlucky. Got a demand to pay, decided to hit attack instead and this was the result. Admittedly I only had towers for defence, but they certainly didn’t stop at plundering. Not an Ironman challenge at all, just Vanquisher Arid Highlands difficulty.
Eventually they pretty much wiped out everything I’d built and killed all my villagers. I had over 500 villagers when the attack started.
