So I haven’t used any mods yet but heard about GDStash that seems to be really popular. Here are my questions, was thinking of using it (or another mod that alows to do such things) to do the following:
Copy a character. So lets say I have a 94 level character with certain game state progression, items etc. Can I make the exact copy of it?
Transfer a character. Could I somehow transfer that copy to Hardcore? Or if copying a character is not possible, could I transfer my Standard character to Hardcore? Could I also somehow create a save file copy or whatever to be able to revert my character to Standard afterwards.
If you use any mods such as GDStash or whatever, does your game version become altered/marked in any way? Are you restricted from anything? Trading, joining other games etc. Earning achievements. Or is there no difference at all?
Yes you can change sc/hc status as you please. Even if hc char dies.
Game is not flagged or anything, since GD stash is not a mod, it is a tool. The trade threads on the forum are for LEGIT trading. I’d be suprised if anyone would like to trade with you if they knew you were doing stuff with GD stash. But hey, you can create any item that you want with that tool so who care about trading? You can still earn achievements and play MP games.
Last week you were totally against the idea of using mods and tool. Considering you only got like 100h into the game - what changed your mind?
I met one. He somehow duplicates mats, and he crafts random items by those blacksmith with unlimited mats; traded me for some uncraftable item. and gaved me absurdly high amount of mats and left. I asked why? He said you need more? Then explained it to me. Not sure it was with GDstash or something else though.
Trading “economy” in this game is so scuffed. But no ARPG is perfect when it comes to trading. In PoE etc there are bots farming for you while you sleep, work and eat.
It would be best if GD2 had both off-line and on-line modes (also both with SSF and non-SSF variants) with characters on hard drives and servers respectively. SSF / Trading could even have different drop-rates.
And about bots? Not sure, moderation or time limit how much you play per week / month? At least something better than D3 where bots are rampant. Not sure about PoE because I haven’t played it.
I think keeping it single player is what bring success to the Crate. And I don’t think so they want to expand so much to maintain a huge server. I also left PoE because I don’t want to compete with other people in a rush while restarting with every season, spend hours in trading instead playing etc.
Crate may need to expand a lot anyway for GD2. Although it’s also very efficient / master at carefully thinking about which features to deliver / which to skip so who knows
