In my quest to bolster my dark powers, I have come to realize(or more accurately; theorize) that as a Death Knight that doesn’t really have big focus on non-magical/elemental damage types, Cadence is holding me back from using Necrotic Edge and Reaping Strike more frequently. “Well, just use Weapon Attack,” you might say. The problem with that is, it turns out Devotion procs can’t be set to proc from Weapon Attack. Is it possible to enchant default attack skills with specific damage types to gear? and if not, are there any unique items that grant default attack skills?
There are a couple. The Mistborn Tallisman relic will grant Troll Rage, a skill you can use as a default weapon attack as does the component Shard of Beronath which grants Beronath’s Fury.
Beronath’s component. Also, I would rather use Cadence with Deadly Momentum for more damage and cap Cadence to over 20 (it is possible to reach 26, but kinda hard). You can also get Theodin’s sceptre if you want a powerful one for aether damage.
Cadence only reduces your WPS procs by 1/3, so it’s not a big deal. Just get 20% proc chance and you even might get two procs of WPS before Cadence fairly frequently. On my older version of DK, I had 15 - 20% chance to proc WPS and I rarely had non-WPS hits before Cadence’s third hit.
Very informative. Thank you.
What is that Charge Level thing from Troll Rage?
I wonder if Cadence maxed or even at 26 would be more powerful than an alternate magical/elemental default attack skill. If you focus on say, Vitality, and you stack a bunch of Vitality enhancing effects, I imagine Cadence would be weaker than a Vitality default attack skill.
