Well, just out of curiosity, can you reach lvl100 in normal/veteran? Is there any place that mobs scale that high in veteran?
I have multiple chars in ultimate a long time ago but don’t feel like I can play through the same story 2 more times to reach the highest level cap as my playtime is very much limited by now.
I think it might be possible, but would probably take a long time since you don’t really gain much, if any XP, from mobs/bosses/heroes way below your level. Iirc someone said the other day that Normal max cap for those is L60.
Just do crucible if you want exp
TY for the fast reply, I also read somewhere that nemesis is capped at 60 on veteran but that was a long time ago so I am just wondering if the cap has been raised with AoM (also the reason for me to come back to the game to try out new classes)
I find crucible may get too risky for me cause I personally play only on hardcore 
Moreover Grim Dawn’s story is magnificent with the addition of AoM so I would like to experience it one more time for now (but def not 3 more times cause my wife’s gonna murder me if I got too attached to the game like before :p)

What you could do is play the base game in Normal/Veteran and then Elite and only play AoM in Ultimate. You don’t have to play AoM to unlock the next difficulty of the game, the devs made it optional so you can choose to or not after you kill the final boss in Act 4. The upcoming Forgotten Gods expansion will work in the same way.
I thought you don’t get exp for killing very low level enemies. I mean, I rushed in normal difficulty with my 90-something level character and after killing many c*ck blocking enemies my bar either didn’t move at all or moves like less than 1/10 of an inch.
I think so. Certainly killing anything around DC when you’re high level doesn’t seem to move the bar at all. Might just be such a small increment though that it would take ages to gain anything. :undecided:
If your goal is to get to level 100, just do the first quests/parts of Ultimate?
If your goal is to get lvl 100 but you don’t have the time to play the story 2x more (only 3 difficulties total, sounds like you already did the first) then you are basically SOL. Even if you could find an enemy or two capable of giving xp all the way up it’d be horribly inefficient compared to going into elite and ultimate.
On the other hand if you really want to lvl without leaving normal you can… afaik Bounties never stop giving xp. Just keep in mind you’ll be looking at nearly 100 bounties/level eventually. Elite really isn’t that hard till AoM.
It “might” be possible once the Shattered Realm is released, but at the moment I think you’ll be very limited by the enemy level cap.
I guess I’m gonna rush through Normal + Elite and enjoy full story run in Ultimate then, thank you guys very much 
Mobs in Malmouth’s Crown Hill scale up to 80 on normal, rest of the needed experience you would need to gather by doing bounties. So yes, it is possible to reach 100 with playing only on normal~
