One thing I don’t see anywhere that I’ve looked so far is the contemplation of a character that only provides benefit to other players, geared entirely to ignore the concept of singleplayer play.
Is such a thing just not viable as a a build? Or is it just outside of the intended play style?
Each class has it’a own way to sustain it’s own health, being a single player mostly game . A complete healing/buff type character is not something that would be good by itself.
Pure support won’t be viable, but you can make a character with maximum group support. Take some occultist, like conjurer, with DEE or vitality spells, add blood of dreeg and mogdrogen’s pact lines, wendigos and devotion similar to [these regen builds](these regen builds) with tree of life.
Conjurer has the best potential for that. Look here, I even posted a grimcalc in that thread, it will be the same as in B30 now except that you can maybe add the armor points from obelisk of Menhir somehow
I feel like these skill choices are not optimal, ( http://grimcalc.com/build/dSf7tr )but I really like the idea of getting to the buffs in the briarthorn and the crow, and at that point I couldn’t talk myself out of reaching for the hellhound buff.
So how could we get that general idea somewhere more mechanically viable?
Raven can’t do much damage so maxing him isn’t necessary, just leave him enough points to not die and cast buffs. His last ability can do some damage, but it either need many points or one for stun. Bonds of Bysmiel without manipulation aren’t great.
I’ve been leveling a DEE conjurer like that myself, got to act 3 ultimate just above level 80 I think. His raven never dies with one point and +occultist items thanks to constant healing rain, blood of Dreeg and heart of the wild.
I was wondering the same thing after finding these Epic gloves, Apothecary’s Touch, that are part of a set. The bonus skill heals with a radius and the four piece set bonus will heal on a proc.
Its perfectly viable to make a pure heal/rebuff/buff build for multiplayer only. I did it a few builds ago and it turned out pretty good, granted it was before the inclusion of the higher difficulty but you can still build a very viable support role. Hell you can just treat grimdawn like a mini mmo where u raid and stuff. Just get a tank friend that has threat abilities like blade arc sentinel seals or w.e else and get a good dpser and cc person in your group and you are good To go. I reccomend building a pyromancer and focusing on raven heals, curse of fragility, cocktail and devotions that process heals and rebuffs for entire party and get blood of dreg for party heals ect… You can build quite the burst party healer and enemy debuffer. Just follow the typical role building of a dungeon raid in wow. Grimdawn shares this mmo aspect.and hell it can work well I just know it. Just don’t expect to solo single player and only use this build specifically for a good balanced party. So much support heals and buffs, rebuffs ftw lol. If you need me to go into more detail about the specifics and how to build one just let me know. I’m vastly typing from work right now but I’ll fill you in on how to achieve great results with what you are asking. I’ve been building builds on grimdawn for years now. Al
Needs some work, but this is my old old sorcerer buffer. Imo heal characters are pretty worthless, but it is possible to make one. Pure buff chars have awful single target, but can help speed up trash clears decently. Not a super fun build, but it is pretty effective as it’s job. 100% uptime on dying god/tree of life with a high up time on behemoth on top of the big buffs from class skills
There is pretty much no reason to build pure support when a summoner build will provide the same amount of support on top of damage and tanking. Consider a necro/occultist with a tanking pet that causes enemies to fumble attacks and lowers DA, several auras and significant resistant shred. On top of being able to bind devotions to pets so they have just about 100% uptime. On top of being able to spam Curse of Frailty all the time since that is all required of you.
Imo the best support builds in the game are summoners.
