Making a fun build with two big pistolas, was wondering if it’s worth to go all the way to Reckless Power in Arcanist mastery and if I should use Arcanum Sigilis pistol for that reason.
That depends on what kind of damage you wanna use. If you use Arcanum Sigillis then it is better to ignore reckless power and just build as an elemental shooter.
If you insist on using aether damage, then Empowered Soulflayer maybe a better choice
I am torn between Devlitongue + Sigilis and Deviltongue + Exterminus. I am going to be doing mostly fire, but also some aether damage (because of Iskandra’s set). Reckless power also adds to fire and burn damage.
Deviltonge + Exterminus is more focused, just ignore aether damage entirely. You can go for Reckless power for more conversion, and use some +skill items to make up for the cost of mastery
If he is to ignore aether dmg why should he go for reckless power in order to get conversion?
@OP It depends on your build but basically if you tend to neglect aether dmg I dont see much reason for going RP on DW pistol build, maybe even SP would be more suitable. Stating that due to gear choices I always found pyro to be more suitable for DW pistols.
Sorry I usually get the name mixed up, I meant to go for the other unique skill that convert to fire
I do not recommend deviltongue for that build + 1 to demolitionist skills your not a demolitionist Edit: archanum sigil is better
Np, but unfortunately there isn’t any exclusive skill that does to fire conversion.
Could you elaborate on that?
To give you more choice of reckless power build for guns.
“Vortex of souls” would be a decent gun for ranged sorc.
The piercing glitch works very well on Firestrike. (VoS is only gun that can pierce through the targets)
Though arcanum sigilis is good for DW but lack of skills bonus and too many dmg type to focus makes it’s really hard to get along well.
PS. Conversion dmg from Chaos->Aether is fine. The source are from Clairevoyant set and Albreacht Duality rings. To max resistance you may need MIs or specific good greens
That’s a lot of mixed advice.
To be clear, I will be playing dual-wielding Sorceress (demolitionist + arcanist). I don’t want to be playing with Vortex of Souls or any two-hander.
I will be using Iskandra’s set as well.
All my gear and skill/devotion choices are finalized, except second pistol choice and whethere I should go for reckless power or not. (I will be using lifgiver signet + that epic craftable “Ruby” ring).
Again, Reckless power adds to fire/burn damage, that’s the reason I was interested in that skill.
Lest we be remiss, Agrivix’s amulet nabs you a nice chunk of Fire to Aether conversion, if you are going to go full-bore Aether, so it is a consideration.
Running up the FS tree, converting everything to Aether is a thing, I guess.
Nope, going to be fire + chaos + maybe some aether. Don’t want to take up Iskandra’s amulet slot to convert fire to aether. Maybe more physical to aether would make sense, but don’t wanna take away fire damage.
Damn this build is going to be interesting to figure out.
I use RP on my fire and chaos focussed Gunslinger Sorcerer, though I’m not using Iskandra’s.
With the build shown in that thread RP adds around 5% sheet dps, and the increased cast speed is also useful when you’re frequently casting Flashbang / Mines.
It’s not really a hard decision to make though, as you’re probably going to want to go 50/50 on Masteries anyway for the HP/toughness, so you can just experiment when you’re at max level and see if you really like RP or not.
Thanks, that’s useful advice, gonna follow it and experiment. Although that build you linked is outdated and I am planning to make it mucho better.
If all gear choices/skills/devotions are finalized, can you post a grimtools?
You can go Sigillis X2 and be fine. I’ve tested a very defensive Iskandra Dual-Wielder with 32/50 demo/arcanist using Reckless Power doing elemental/aether damage and it does well enough, it can kill Fabius without too much stress and kills MQ with kiting. I’ll post a grimtools later cause I’m in a rush, but long story short you can ignore chaos completely and still be viable.
Sorry for double post, but his build is still strong and solid for the current meta, probably one of the most optimized dual-wield Sorcs on the forum imo. It’s just gear dependant. I’d be impressed to see you come up with further optimizations for it.
Keep in mind the reason it works so well is because of the super high DPS that can be converted to life. Swapping Ulzuin for Iskandra will lower that DPS a bunch, so even though you gain nice defensive stats you’ll be losing life steal so survivability will probably not change much. Although personally I think any auto-attack pistol build should get new and improved Ghoul constellation, but that’s just me.
