Is Shepherd's Call worth for a full pet conjurer?

I’m building a pet conjurer atm level 37 no problems so far except for Shepherd’s Call, because:

  1. you have to do the attack skill to trigger it, I spent 1 skill point into Sigil of Consumption which is pretty weak to be useful (just to trigger Shepherd’s call).

  2. and this is tedious part, but everytime I use Sigil of Consumption, I get everyone’s attention and I get attacked by several dudes not like without casting Sigil maybe 1 or 2 guys will try to hit me but everyone get busy with my pets…

so, is shepherd’s call worth for a full pet guy? is it useful at end game running?

thanks for help

TOTALLY worth it  I think I’ll have three 1 pointer attacks to proc my devotions when I finish building my summoner  Note that the mogrodren proc is also an on attack proc  you will some offensive skills to attack to get devotion provs

couple of tips for using the offensive skills to proc the devotions:

  1. use pet attack command on ground first
  2. wait till they start ripping into stuff (they should all be on aggressive)
  3. then cast your attack skills to proc the devotions

Use Grasping Vines, Devouring Swarm, and Bloody Pox (in that order from best proccer to worse) to proc your abilities.

Grasping Vines hits the enemy with a slow and immobilization debuff which can save your butt, and it’s pretty much an instant proc because it’s a big multi-hitting AoE.

Devouring Swarm lowers vitality and bleed resist and is also a multi-proc penetrating attack that almost instantly procs everything.

Bloody Pox… er, well, it reduces its victims’ HP by 3-5% regardless of your own terrible offensive stats, at least?

Sigil of Consumption is a last resort if you need something to bind a 4th devotion skill to, somehow.

thanks for the tips I use pet attack first so my pets but when I cast Sigil I get attacked anyway, maybe I don’t wait enough or maybe is it because Sigil is a DoT skill?

thanks, I’m gonna try them they’ll probably work better even without getting chased by mobs with sigil it’s too weak as 1 pointer

your distance from the fight also effects agro.

if you can hover at max distance from the fight (sigil is bad due to range, same issue with cast range of pox) then you are less likely to pull agro.

If the fight goes too long, you will end up with agro regardless, as there is an ignore summons threshhold for the AI.

Also, CoF is brutal for getting agro. If you cast it before your pets have got properly stuck into the mob, insta agro!

Don’t forget if you have enough pets, you can use them to shield you (pet attack on ground, then stand so they are between you and the bad guys).

Have fun!

If you have enough levels in CoF, it will hilariously to see the enemies trying to chase you in vain over your grasping vines. Just one point into Entangling Vines and watch them getting immobilized!
