Is Still Panettis Replicating Missile Bad in late?

I am quite easily leveling with it and i wonder will it be viable? Also this skill is bad when it comes to bosses which another skill should i go?

Devastation

As for your first question - dunno, want to try levelling one too.

My first character was a Warlock that focused on PRM. I really like the skill, but compared to the Sorcerer I leveled after that it just does not have the power needed to take down heroes and bosses fast enough. Also, due to no weapon dmg component in PRM, life steal is useless and you have to move around quite a bit to stay alive, and since you can’t cast while moving its just that much harder. I feel like the challenge is fun, and PRM destroys packs of regular monsters.

That being said, I still don’t have exactly what I want as far as gear to make the character as strong and as tanky as it could be. Pairing a PRM Arcanist with a different class might be more optimal as well as working in a skill to make use of weapon damage for life steal to increase sustain. I would love to see the skill buffed, but the devs may look at it as a skill that has enough already to make it usable because it can pass through monsters and the spread of missles can proc anything like crazy. Adding in Devestation helps tremendously.

I leveled a PRM character to 85, and even with a full Invoker’s set it feels really lackluster. It’s great for trash mobs but it’s a massive energy drain and barely makes a dent in bosses.

I kinda feel like PRM needs to get the same treatment that Flash Freeze and (more recently) Cadence got and just be buffed all to hell and go from there. It’s been a chronically under performing skill for as long as Arcanist has existed.

I tried PRM on my warlock and while it did an okay job (and just an okay job, not stellar) of clearing out packs of trash mobs it really just doesn’t do as much as it needs to do to be useful. I got more out of attaching a searing ember to my weapon and spamming that than I ever did from PRM, and that was from lv7 on up.

I find it hard to believe. Okay, searing ember will outperform PRM early on, but fully levelled PRM should outperform even Greater Fireball. Otherwise either I’m seriously underestimating component skills or PRM is just way below my expectations and will do around 3-4k DPS unless you have specific gear.

PRM is far from OP but this dude did something “decent” with it.

All I had at that point were some +fire% and +elemental% items (mostly the latter as I thought PRM would be better), and between lv7 (when I could glue a searing ember to my sword) and about lv20 (when I realized PRM was really bad and took the dozen+ points I had in it out) I was consistently doing way more dps with fireblast than PRM while spending the same energy.

If you build PRM similar to how you do Callidor’s Tempest Sorcerer it is quite strong. You use Warpfire, Aldanaar’s Vanity, Outcast Secret, 3 Piece Iskandra Set, Ulzuin’s Pyroclasm, Phantom Thread Girdle & Badge of mastery.
My build looks like this

10K DPS isn’t all that great looking but with all the -resists I stack, the Procs and Devastation you melt the game.

PRM is still quite viable late. AAR builds tend to be HEAVILY dependent on itemization.

Thanks for your inputs. Is it good or efficient to mix it with devastation and sigil of consumption?

Devastation is good for pretty much any Arcanist build that shares damage types with it. PRM has Aether and Elemental (-> Fire) so it’s a pretty good idea to pick it up.
Not sure why you’d want Sigil though, it has the same use as PRM: AOE trash clear. Also Vitality damage doesn’t go well with your other damage types at all, so it will only tickle mobs and at the same time provide meaninglessly low healing.
If you go for a Warlock, you should rather pick up Curse of Frailty with Vulnerability and Blood of Dreeg on the Occultist side.

Plenty of procs have a %weapon damage component, if you can eat plenty of enemies at once (Flame Torrent, Tsunami) then your tiny life steal becomes potent.
