Is the Dying God constallation good?

Well, the title is my question and I am using Dying God in my meele build( which might be bad) but anyway I just want to ask.

I also want to ask, if Dying God drains too much HP once it scales up.
My current lvl of Dying God drains around 260 HP per second, which is a lot.
Of course, it does grant power, but the HP cost is insane and the active buff does not have a cooldown if it is scaled up.

But what is your opinion about Dying God?

It’s an amazing constellation for the right builds and the proc is really obscenely good if you have appropriate regen to counter the drain. The only weakness Dying God has imo is lack of RR nodes/procs and those seem to usually be reserved for T2 constellations/procs anyway. Conversion on the Hungering Void proc would be nice too, but I’m not holding my breath for that.

The HP drain isn’t as bad as you think it is. Blood of Dreeg at 16/16 gives +106 health regen before you factor in % health regen.

Giant’s Blood gives +280 health regen per second before % health regen which almost counters it out on it’s own.

Then there’s other ways of countering it like ADCtH.

Otherwise though, Dying God is definitely worth it - the celestial power, Hungering Void gives a massive 40% crit damage and 10% total speed and it can be kept up between 66% and 100% of the time as the cooldown starts as soon as it procs. Even builds that don’t go Chaos/Vitality can consider it for the crit damage alone.

Would the crit bonus from Stormcaller’s Pact and HV stack additively? Because if so that would be kind of hilarious.

Yes. Jajaja’s Ultos Elementalist from way back used Hungering Void. It was insane.

If you can counter the HP drain through regen or have a high HP build that can’t counter the HP drain through regen but can ADCtH its way out of it then go for it otherwise I generally avoid it (yes I can see the irony)

EDIT
You’re in the wrong section

Just realized this too, this is more Gameplay Discussion than anything

Dont forget that Dying God also provides nice amount of OA, a very valuable stat for almost every build.
HP drain sucks when you have ~100hp/s regen, but when you have 200-300 hp/sec regen, it isnt an issue at all.

Thanks for all the replies and sorry for posting this in the wrong section.
I am not really familiar with the communtiy yet.

Gonna repeat what everyone else already said, but it’s easily one of the best T3 devotions. Great proc and great nodes.

At least you have your own constellation. Korvaak and I still don’t. :frowning:

Blasted Arkovian geezers stealing the spotlight this time :furious:

What are you supposed to be the god of? Snark and dissatisfaction? :stuck_out_tongue:

He is the God of Loot  Praise him and you gain full sets in one run

RNGesus = Lokarr? So he’s the asshole who keeps giving me epics from my Ult one-shots.

Of anguish, despair and broken hopes.

Let’s not forget sarcasm.

Yes, because why not let pathetic mortals decide for myself.

Dying God is one of the better constellations, all nodes are solid and the granted skill gives a huge damage boost. It’s really nice on chars that can get high OA but can’t get much crit damage due to their class combo/itemization.

What makes it even better is that you can get that triad of Dying God / Spear / Hourglass with relatively little investment, I think that’s one of the strongest things in the game right now.

As for the HP drain, it’s not as bad as it looks. It drains 300 HP/s or so, but keep in mind that it’s not affected by your HP reg % bonus.
If you have Giant’s Blood or Blood of Dreeg and some % bonuses, you barely feel it.

Why would you take Spear and Dying God though? Hourglass I get, but not Spear.
