Is the GOG version the DRM Free download for backers?

I bought a Legendary Edition (way, way back before Kickstarter) and I’ve been waiting all these years to play the promised DRM free version.

Today I see that a DRM Free version has just been released on GOG. But I’m thoroughly confused.

Is this the DRM Free version that was promised to early backers all those years ago? Are we supposed to download the game from GOG?

Or will there be another DRM Free download available from the Grim Dawn website itself?

If we’re supposed to download from GOG, how does one do it? Because GOG won’t let me download the game unless I pay for it again.

There’s talk on the forums about redeeming Steam keys and swapping Humble keys and all manner of confusion.

But all I have is my Legendary Key (a 32 digit code sent to me in an email). I’ve never had any dealings with Steam or Humble or anything else.

So does anybody know how can I use this key to finally get the game I paid for all those years ago?

Yes, the GOG version will be your DRM free version, Humble is in the process of getting the keys set up for backers, this might still take a few days though.

If you never used Steam, you should be good to go once your GOG key becomes available.

So if I understand correctly, I’ll need to create a Humble account and exchange my Legendary Key for a GOG Key?

Then I should be able to download the game from GOG?
