Is the healing from devouring swarm noticeable?

I’ve only ever used this skill once before and it was pre veteran buff when you took no damage anyway so I never noticed how much it heals for.

Now that you take a lot of damage early game I was wondering about this skill.

you mean devouring swarm?

Yes sorry I dont even know its name lol I only play pet builds and that isn’t a skill we use.

not even on vitality pets builds?

I play pet builds too and I have used it… :stuck_out_tongue:

Judging from your other posts, do you have any pet build with BiS gear btw?

No I have nothing fresh starting after work today.

Got a new ssd and never bothered to back up my saves.

I love starting over.

You might get significant heals off of it if you hardcap it and stack Vitality damage modifiers but the base damage/ADCtH looks like it would only still be similar or slightly above other procs like Wendigo Mark. I don’t think the Vitality damage mods are worth it then as it’s a lot of effort for something you could likely get easier. Other skills could get bigger returns on heals if you were to dedicate item slots to those instead.

The real pro to maxing Swarm is the huge RR with the life steal as icing.

I was wondering about that myself when I leveled up a bleed conjurer. The heal is only noticable in early game if you max it early on, but once you (and the monsters) level up the heal effects from other skills and devotions will become much better. Got DS at 22/16 now and the heal is totally negligible. Got it as high as 25/16 once, still only worth it for the RR.

I too have used it, but not in Vitality pets. I limit that strictly to Lost souls.

But I did not notice any healing from it in my bleed pet build and I had it capped for the rr.

I had a vitality caster shaman/occultist, with swarm as my spammable spell after unloading my arsenal (grasping vines, sigil of comsumption, wendigo totem, Doom bolt). the heal was decent when built for it (you had to spam the skill to really get good heals), but it’ll never be as much as sigil of comsumption. The character was extremely hard to kill and great for crucible, but that was also due to great crowd control, plenty of other sources of lifesteal, and quite a few legendaries. I should note that devouring swarm is probably the best skill to use for quickly leveling shaman at early levels, but it drops off later due to it’s poor bossing capabilities.
