Is This Retaliation Green Shield any good?

Hello i am quite new too the game i have just brought a shield that i saw in Bastion of Chaos vendor Elite mode it looked like it could be good for a Retaliation build , but i spend almost all my gold on it since it cost 200k.

Would you guys be able too tell me how good this shield is out of 10 or i will easily be able too find better (wasted my money?).

Unfortunitly I’d say you’ve wasted your money. As far as MIs go the Obsidian Guard is an easier one to find - and not even the rare version which is Obsidian Bulwark. To make matters worse ‘Nullifying’ is about the worst prefix I can think of for a shield, well perhaps not THE worst but close to it.

That leaves us with the high point of the shield ‘of Vengeance’ This at first glance might seem decent for a retaliation shield build but I’d recommend a shield with more defense as a priority as shield stats are harder to come by than retaliation stats. Shields with the ‘of Redoubt’ or ‘of Valor’ suffixes tend to be nice.

*this shield you’ve posted will also be easily beaten by numerous epics, including the crafted Empowered Crest of the Black Legion which is obtained with black legion rep

I wouldn’t feel too bad about this, I’ve done it before on rings I thought would be good for a few levels and I end up getting a better drop. 200k iron bits isn’t really a lot. If the shield is an upgrade for you then it is still an upgrade, you can find better, but if this is the best you have then it really isn’t a waste.

Thanks for your response this is what i thought it would probably be a waste but i had to buy it just in case it was one of those super rare greens because the stats looked good to me,

do you know if any Green shields can be the best or would they all be beaten by Epic/Legendaries?

Most Legendary shields are fairly bad unless you’re using them as part of a set (Dawnbreaker/Markovian). Green shields definitely outpace them.

Very much agree with this. A good MI with a phys resist prefix (not necessarily a rare prefix, some of the best are common!) And one of the suffixes i linked above can crush any legendary shield. Especially if that rare MI is a warden shield.
