My Commando, via Superfluff, is serving me well, but I’d like to get another toon in the mix to stave off some boredom. I have a pet Conjurer in her 40s and a DEE poison in his teens.
I’m looking for suggestions as to what to play. Something I can get into ultimate and start farming with mostly self-found gear.

id say continue DEE build, its capable of clearing all content including rogue likes selfound gear with zero legendaries.
-has tons of good items for DEE
-hit & run tactic is so strong
-dmg of build is so so high with trash gear
-has selfsustain spell + physical resistance + absorb : main layer of defence
-has its own RR with lowering enemy OA
its all around great build for min gear requirement imo, playstyle requires abit of kiting, some sorta defensive centric devotions and you will be gucci.
and ya its good farmer aswell to get gear.
Range or caster with good CC are easiest to play and less gear dependent. So you can play ultimate with self-found gear when you finish elite without preparing much, just be careful and don’t take yourself to bad situation. Anyway your char you have is good for playing till ultimate tho.
Sorcerer, Battlemage, Elementalist, Druid, Warlock are my suggestion
If you like your old commando but new patch make you feel bad, I recommend trying battlemage. It’ll be shine in 1.0.0.8
Ranged Fire Strike, Primal Strike, or Cadence all have various merits you might enjoy. If you’re looking for more of a Caster, Vitality Conjurers are an old standard, as are Callidor’s Tempest builds.
With 1.0008 Bloody Pox might make Bleed Casting a thing, so you could try that. It’s not hard to swap a Vitality Conjurer into a Bleed Conjurer, so you could perhaps mix both of them at once, if you’d like to try that.
