Jagged Alliance 2

It took me almost 10 years to remember the name of this game whose demo I tried way back.
I recently got into this in my spare time, the characters, plot, the detailing, the gameplay - i’d say everything is just amazing.

Basically, you’re a guy who is hired by someone to overthrow dictatorship in his country and you do so by hiring the most racist, badass and eccentric Mercs on the planet

It’s really great, detailing is impressive to the point that if a MERC is a racist and hates Russians then he will relieve himself from your employment if he is in the same squad as a Russian Merc for too long (only solution is to keep them in separate squads)

-Gameplay is satisfying as you are very nicely rewarded

-Freedom is so much that I with a small bunch of Mercs managed to take out a military facility in very early game(at a hefty cost so i just reloaded my old safe). You’re free to do whatever you want just win them the city and try not to be too much of a dick to the locals you need them

-There is a concept of traps (mines, booby traps on random objects and doors)

I recommend this game to anyone who wants to try a quality SRPG
Also there is a highly recommended mod called v1.13 (which i’ll try after Vanilla) and an expansion pack called Unfinished Business.

There also exist Jagged Alliance Wildfire which is kinda buggy and Back in Action which is a shit on the fanbase by some random shitheads which took the depth out of the entire game. So better avoid Wildfire and Back in Action

I played only the Wildfire version. That version is hard as hell because the damage of every weapon was increased tenfold.

Wildfire is fine but i’d recommend the original one - Jagged Alliance 2 and the mod v1.13 (so far looks really well made)

Gun, all gun, like finger on hand.

I played the hell out of this back in the day. It’s a true classic, like Planescape: Torment and Terraria. Nice to see people are still discovering and appreciating it.

“Like lightnin’, man. I’m here and ready to strike.”

Very fond memories of Jagged Alliance 2 and definitely a game that goes overlooked by many.

Seriously?

I’ve never played Wizardry but i’ve heard it and Ultima dominated the market for a while and this comes from the same developers and has a unique concept and setting than most of the other RPGs out there

It’s a shame, I am happy i somehow at sometime played the demo for this game and am really glad i managed to recall what the game was called
