Kasparov Quest in 1.0.6.0.

So if you go back to Devil’s Crossing, Kasparov has a new quest marker. I talked to him and he’s talking about purifying a crystal and when he attempts it, it slightly fails and gives you a purple crystal.

I use the crystal and then I have this purple crystal following me around. That’s about the extent of what I know and what the item does but does the purple crystal that follows you around actually do anything?

Anyone have any input on this?

I was also on Ultimate when I grabbed the quest.

It is a follow-up for the Hargate’s Formula quest I believe.

There are 2 outcomes depending on whether you give him the formula or keep it for yourself and interact with an object somewhere in the world.

I never gave him the formulae on any difficulty with any char…so I already did the quest in fleshworks where you get an aetherial missive. I could be wrong…but I always remember keeping formulae every single time.

You wouldn’t because you only get that particular quest when you reach Honored status with Devil’s Crossing.

So if you didn’t reach that status until Ultimate that’s the first time you’ll be able to do that quest.

Can u elaborate on the 2 outcomes a little bit…i couldnt find this quest on the wiki

Give him the formula and later you get a quest from Kasparov to do some testing and you either can get an Aetherial Mutagen or a Kasparov Crystal (it’s a pet). You can either say yes or no, but i don’t know which option gives which reward.

Don’t give him the formula and use it to break an aether crystal formation a little before the entrance to the final area of the expansion.

My chars are always honored by the time the act is finished…I never leave an area till I do every single quest from NPC’s and rep tiers.

This was my very first char ever, so maybe I did give him the formulae ages ago…everybody after that I for sure didn’t

It’s like this:

give formula -> get mutagen from kasparov on normal and elite, pet crystal on ultimate (this also gives some DC standing)

keep formula -> get missive in fleshworks on all difficulties (no DC standing)

The pet crystal is purely cosmetic. It may help you get the 18 pets achievement but that’s about it.
