I didn’t see a report of this for latest playtest so apologies if it is already reported. Also don’t have a video - sorry. But when turning in a quest in town the keyboard stops working until you visit a vendor outside of town. Example is turning in DC quests to Bourbon. Then push ‘I’ for inventory and nothing happens. Push ‘C’ for character and nothing happens. Go outside of DC to Luther and open his shop and close the window - then it all works again. I noticed this same behavior in Vanguard of the Three too. Even fighting Direni caused the issue in DC.
Does your keyboard use a battery, ie wireless keyboard?
Are you using WASD as movement control?
Do you have a controller plugged in?
No to all of that. This started happening with the latest patch drop. I let it go when in Vanguard with another character. I started a new character yesterday and it happened in DC. When it happened again today after killing Direni I decided to report it. I did some experimentation first - opening shared stash didn’t bring the keyboard back. Nor did opening the DC faction vendor. Going outside to Luther fixed it.
Same here. Keyboard input stops working. For me, it’s fixed by simply going into the menu: press Esc, then press it again, and everything starts working.
We cannot reproduce this issue.
If you have steps to making this occur, we can investigate further.
It looks like simple interraction with someone in town causes the keyboard inputs to stop. I had it stop for me after looking at Luther’s items today. Walk into the jail and press ‘I’ - nothing. Press ‘C’ - nothing. Press ‘S’ - nothing. Open Luther up again then close him and keyboard works (I am using esc to exit the interractions). Maybe it is sporadic? Seems that turning in a quest more consistently causes it to happen. Happened each time I turned a quest in to Bourbon.
I wouldn’t have a clue technically what could cause this thing to occur - I read somewhere else that someone was talking about pause on a controller was PROPERLY causing the keyboard to freeze. Since I don’t use controller at all maybe there is a connection here? I don’t know.
i just had it happen to me for the first time
tried it a couple times, what happened with me is,
open Luther’s inventory,
use the word search,
walk away without closing npc window; can’t use keyboard letters (but can use hotkeys like numbers and alt for skills/evade)
Hitting escape/bring up the main menu and can use letters for char sheet/log again
it seems like the search box has to be cleared manually before exiting the merchant, if i clear the search box with the x or exit merchant with using top right x, then ijlk etc char menu letters aren’t locked
likewise if i don’t use the search box to begin with it doesn’t lock
