It’s been mentioned from time to time that you could actually make a proc build very deadly. One example I could remember is JoV telling that he killed Aldrich with only CoF and Flashbang, 2 devotion procs and 6 gear procs. As far as devotions go it’s more or less comprehensible - probably elemental storm and widow. But as for gear procs - I have no idea, lol. What procs are actually so powerful that they could take down some of the strongest bosses?
Best combo i have ever enjoyed and seen is COF(with Vulnerability) + Eldritch’s Fire. They just synergy like yin yang. Everything is perfect.
Grim Dawn’s constellations are all about “chance to proc” anyway. Any skill you tie there is proc based. Thus it can be done i guess. Only problem would be 50 devotion points could be invested all offense and you could need to compensate defense aspect of char from your masteries in my opinion.
Yet Eldrich Fire is barely enough to kill trash, although it’s probably useful to launch a proc chain. What I’m interested in is killing nemesises.
Thermite mine is the answer.
Really, all what you want, but x 6 times powerfull.
Its not just a single proc but chain procing that makes the job well done.
I can make a guide for that build I mentioned and write a bit more about it if you are interested.
Also prof of killing with procs is transmuted BWC S&B comando with ik set. Most of its dmg comes from procs. That build cleared gladiator cruci with no buffs and banners.
You dont need to invest all to offense If you dont want to, I certainly didn’t.
I killed MQ and fabius also with only cof (eldritch fire) and flashbangs (elemental storm). It takes more time than usual but its doable and reliable.
Termite mines are nice for binding procs tho a bit low quality of life type of skill. Build OP mentioned dont have any proc on termite mines.
I only have one proc-based build, I killed Rashalga and Shar’Zul with that build.
But judging from your posts yours and mine are very different. You seem to have more procs (strong ones no less) going for you, so i am wondering what you might have picked
Hmm
Something to think about i guess
P.S
Proc based builds are too broken to be posted here due to extreme focus on QoL. That’s my opinion, they’re relatively slow killers but are too “safe”
Aggrivix malice is a very strong one. You can add Outcast’s secret to it.
Druids and other trozan builds use multiple sky shard procs. There are two on Trozan set, one here and one here.
i tried a druid with 2 x falling skies proc, trozan meteor proc, combined with skyshards, and it’s ok but nothing to write home about. i would assume a dedicated proc build is vastly more powerful
I’m still working on a Bolt based proc build…Doom and Chaos Bolt procs all round!. Should be fun, if nothing else. It’s not the first proc heavy build I’ve done, so I don’t foresee terrible issues with it.
Generally the big problem I’ve found with Proc builds is getting the proc items, not making the build itself. Hard to get all the epics and greens together with the right synergistic proc rolls on the greens.
i’m still wanting to experiment with a 6x elemental seal proc build- but haven’t tried it yet. i think i have all the items now though should be interesting. My conjurer-tank has like 5x sigil procs now, plus manual sigil, and it works fairly well though he still lags in power way behind my warders and witchblade.
The thing is, like others have said here, to get a good chain going. I’m currenly playing a bloody pox experimental build that has three sigils, two poison clouds and another couple of contagion like procs that spread themselves (and are on hit, not attack, making it really lazy). Add to that Rend which has 5 meter aoe and no cooldown (I expect a cooldown added to it at some point) and a vilality nova proc and it basically goes on forever. It also has grasping vines with the wendigo proc on it for even more dots.
This is just one way, there are no doubt many others.
Edit: and this build uses zero green items. Like I said, lazy.
i wouldn’t expect a nerf to rend any time soon since bleed still bounces off undead and rock mobs. i tried it in a proc build and found it too situational
You can wreck the game wearing all green gear with of Blight suffix
of squalls can also be used but with it having a 2 second cooldown cmpared to of blights 1 second cooldown its a little weaker
It’s not about the bleed parts at all, just that it’s a great way to trigger tons of attacks. Good aeo with no cooldown are the only parts I use it for.
What about Of Arcane Blaze?
Not sure. How long is cool down on the nova proc? Be a bit harder as you’d need to be in melee range. Only one way to find out tho, will give it a look tomorrow night.
Nova? What Nova? It spawns three Aether Bolts, similar to Void Touched Ammo but aether.
I don’t mind being in melee range.
Ahh I thought it was the aether nova proc.
Yes it actually does quite well also. I switched a different Sorcerer I already had to test the character. I forgot to remove the points from Thermite Mines and then out of habit was using them in the video.
You use BWC High Potency for the Resist reduction and to proc Arcane Bomb, then just spam Flashbang. To make it easier to see the missile procs in part of the video I dont use BWC.
I was lazy and didn’t feel like making another video not using thermite mines.
I used Grim Dawn Stash (as I don’t have any of the Arcane Blaze gear) to get the gear. You can craft all of the Arcane Blaze pieces of gear from a blacksmith (I have 8 of them) but obviously if you can farm the MI’s the build will b stronger.
of scorching ends
of squalls
of blight
will work much better as you can get much better -rr
It looks really nice
I took a bit different approach. Didnt used so many procs but to amplify their dmg I stacked rr, so have -161% rr and 20% more from viper (tho viper is only partially applied).
