instead they’re faster, hit harder and cast life leeching pools non-stop…
It is beatable, but so damn lengthy and tedious and annoying. Kill it once and then just rift away whenever you meet him. It just isn’t worth the time and not fun either.
People keep saying Alexander is tough. but really isn’t. You only need to look out for the devestation attacks. There is a relatively short window to see it coming and move out of the way. Still its a relatively easy nemesis.
Well… i have now 3.1k OA and 2.9k DA… 2300 Armor aswell Blademaster Dual Wield Phys/Internal Trauma Build…
Sooo he hits really weak… BUT xD I cant kill him. Dat HP Regen is so stupid i mean wtf ? im fully 94 myth geared and cant kill em even with running arround him LUL o,O
Finished him with Spellbinder. Dunno how to beat him without high phyz resist, absurd LL or permanent unvulnerability, he hit like a truck, run fast and drop bloody pools nonstop.
The best nemesis in the game, BTW. At least GD has something with unique mechanic that require some finger action to beat down =)
The loot was awfull, btw >_>
I went into him today on elite while leveling my poison dual wield. I died… horribly. without noticing anything
It’s not i was able to facetank EVERYTHING and kill EVERYTHING. An he literally killed me in <1 sec Now i need to level another one
I like Kupacabra after this a lot more :3 Making some challenges
Even I think there are too many beasts in the game, I had the Nemesisrank in elite act 2 already, came to the Xpac and instantly died to him, oh dear, will be more careful next time
But I like to have a challange in the Endgame and have to be a bit more carefully while leveling. Before the Xpac came out, most Nemesis were too ez and leveling was extreme predictable. Let’s hope they don’t nerf these new Nemesis’
Drop these new Nemesis MI shoulders/armor/whatever too?
I recall reading somewhere that the whole beast faction/nemesis would only affect the add-on areas, and probably misunderstood that as being only able to gain infamy from xpac beast kills…
Looks like there’ll be careful planning needed to avoid getting to Nemesis with that faction before characters are capable to handle it.
And no, I’m not a fan of Nemesis spawns feeling like a failed time trial challenge, i.e. “you have x playtime against that faction to acquire gear to beat their Nemesis (good luck with that playing solo self-found), if you don’t manage that, go play somewhere else or be prepared to die or safety-quit frequently”.
Just encountered this guy at lvl 72 in Elite HC. My 100% retal/reflect build cannot kill him even when berserking him with bloody pox, he only takes about 5% of his hp in dmg from me. He then immediately heals about 10% HP whenever he passes over a blood pool. I cannot kite him in a way that will prevent him from hitting those at some point. Lowest I was able to drop his hp before healing was to about 80%. Nice game design there crate.
I’ve come up against trio’s of the shaman dudes that heal eachother and just thrown my hands up like… okay this will be “fun”. I get that you want to have enemies heal, but endless FULL HP healing is not an enjoyable experience.
While I’m ranting, why are so many enemies immune to bloody pox? Please tell me that’s a bug.
Slight update. For anyone having trouble with this guy using a retaliation build, I did manage to kill it finally. All you have to do, is rubber band the big guy in a way that causes him to get stuck on a wagon which causes his healing buff to not effect him any more. You need this because his body is so big it will be nearly impossible to keep him out of the blood pools long enough to take his hp to zero no matter what you do.
Then for each split, just run them around in a large circle (large enough for the blood pools to despawn before you get back to them) and let them attack you every few seconds, throw dots or other damage that you can, but keep moving as much as possible.
Eventually they will die. It will take about an hour or so, and you will actually have dealt enough damage to kill them 100 times over, but eventually the RNG gods will bless you and they will not stop to breath attack you inside one of the blood pools (instantly regaining full hp) long enough for you to reduce their hp to zero.
Also side tip, if you have occultist, berserk them with the bloody pox skill to make them run faster so that they run out of the blood pools faster. Just be cautious as that will also make them hit you twice as hard.
There is something definitely wrong with either your build or your method of killing. My RET build kills him in 15 minutes, it’s tedious, it’s annoying, but it’s way faster than yours. And you do have Bloody Pox, so you should have been WAY faster than me.
As for me, I killed first two forms pretty fast - he was hitting himself like crazy with those swings, so what I needed is simply separating remaining four.
Valguurs Hunger Cabalist - just going through Ult Xpac, ran into him, decided to go all out - went to town and used consumables - too many - took around 3 mins, or so. ‘they’ trapped me on the bottom right of the screen for a full 12 seconds or so before one died and I could run away and finish them.
I can leech through his breath attack in his first form if I have Mark of Torment up but needs pretty precise timing, can facetank when theres only 2 left
i killed that kubacapra once. needed to constantly kite and everytime he multiplied i kited one away and killed it. just dont ever kite them to a guard, cause if you die it will keep fighting the guards and heal from the mstanding in pools
Today i fought him for the first time with my witchblade. I couldn’t get his health lower than maybe 70%. Tried constant fight and run from the bloodpools, but there was always a moments when he got to full health again. I can fight him pretty easy without dying, except he health so damm fast back. And that was just his first form. Of course i will try again to kill him at least once. Would more life leech resistant help much?
“Farmed” him yesterday 2 times (2 of his spawn points are on my farm route). In the mine, I got trapped and died once. South of the mine I kited him round and round (and round…).
Well, I won´t complain. He dropped f***ing great pants both times.
Realize the post is a bit old, but I just killed him for the first time today, and he was exceedingly easy with a poison saboteur build. Hit, kite, hit, kite. Even with 3 of them chasing me it was still fine. So it seems he’s very susceptible to poison. I will clarify that I can’t even touch the new Chthonic nemesis with this build, so it’s very nemesis specific.
