I wanted to try a build that focuses on Upheaval, cuz I the idea of a hard hitting AoE WPS is cool. Veilkeeper Set naturally caught my eye with all the bonuses to Upheavel but when I tried to search for a build with it, the only one that utilized Veilkeeper set also used Blazerush, which is extremely anti-synergistic with Veilkeeper Set due to conflicting fire conversion. When I searched Grim Tools to find an alternative weapon, the only one was Avenger’s Crusher which also had a conflicting conversion and zero lightning damage on weapon. Right now all the Upheavel bonuses on Veilkeeper set seems to be pointless due to having no proper weapon avaliable. I think Upheaval focused Veilkeeper would be a cool archetype if there was a weapon that was actually usable by the build.
Scion for Aether melee, Fleshwarped rifle for aether ranged, Stormreaver for lightning melee, Evoker for lightnign ranged
Lucius bladearm is my go to for Druid
still good after nerf modifier change? ![]()
.edit, nvm, just realized how long it’s been since i even looked at that thing ![]()

1.2.1.3 ![]()

Sure it is
especially since that conversion got added
Hmm I guess I was approaching in a wrong way then? Instead of focusing on %weapon damage, I should have focused more on the flat damage part. Lucius’ bladearm seems to be the best option then, thanks for suggestion! But isn’t the lack of Aether RR on Druid hurting the Aether version?
Arcanist gets a lot of raw dmg to make up for RR, so it’s kinda fine’ish
Currently the main mechanical “issue” is upheaval specific interaction, (in some opinions
)
whiiiiich is why upheaval as direct skill gets nuked next update
and just regular wps, so you can build your char more normal with flat dmg and wps amount %pool focus
I see, I should wait for the next update rework before trying to cook an Upheaval build then ![]()
well, next build it wont be an upheaval build, just a regular aa+wps build ![]()
so if you wanna try an upheaval build/“og upheaval”, then you should make it now/on 1.2.1.6 to try the difference in char approach and fight result
Well that is a good point, RIP pure Upheavel builds then ![]()
Even without native RR, arcane bomb + revenant can have 64% aether rr, it may not make enemies reach minus aether resistance, as superboss like Ravager got 90%, and Reaper got 81%. But the extra flat damage from ⅔IEE, RP, and FoR can make up for it, and you also have the potential of 20/10 Arcane Will for more utility
I tried it with Veilkeeper and the fleshwarped carbine, it’s pretty fun. Mostly I wanted to see how high I could get hp regen alongside the total damage buffs.
edit: this made me go back and play around with him, as he’s not complete. I don’t even have all reputations maxed yet. But even so, I was able to beat Mog pretty easily. Basically unkillable if a little on the slower side for that fight.
Gotta max rep for Barrowholm then I’ll try ravager
You don’t need every slot directly buffing the skill you want to use. You prob instead want a 2-hand aether weapon that either buffs a secondary skill or buffs your auras. This is a good thing. You actually have multiple ways you can build around the set or skill without one weapon just being the being the obvious only choice.
I used to use Vortex of Souls (see build summary), but unfortunately general weapon passthrough was removed, leaving it intact only for Primal Strike, not Savagery. It’s still strong against bosses, but too slow for clearing crowds (and getting %weapon damage lifesteal) these days. It’s too bad, because I believe the Savagery conduit should be as good as the Primal Strike conduit, but it definitely isn’t for ranged weapons.
