I have got some Mythical Legendary drops on normal gameplay. The one drop I’m looking for is the Mythical Hellborne rifle. Any advice on farming for it in normal gameplay? So far, I’ve got some amazing Mythical gear. I would switch over to elite, but I really don’t want to have to replay all the main quests again. I wish we could have an option in normal play to just continue to play. This is a new lvl 100 character. Lost my old characters that were on elite. Something to do with the GOG system.
It’s a random drop, so no. You’ll have to get lucky.
The usual methods apply: Monster totems, nemesis bosses, skeleton key troves. Or Shattered Realm in high shards.
Note that there are some items that will not drop on normal difficulty, namely legendary monster infrequents like the Nightbringer. And some sets that can only be gotten from the Shattered Realm. But Hellborne is a normal legendary item so it can drop on normal.
Elite isn’t very interesting, it’s generally recommended to switch to Ultimate directly because otherwise it can indeed get a bit tedious.
Normal is unlikely to offer much challenge after a while. But it’s up to you. You can indeed just continue to play on normal indefinitely if you want, nowadays most areas in normal do fully scale so you can still get decent drops and materials.
On Normal, shattered realm is the way to go for farming mythical legendary, try SR32 and above. Otherwise do the totem run on AoM area

Elite does offer a noticable difference in loot while not challenging the resistances as much. But it is indeed better to try and go up to ultimate skipping elite, and even easier content like monster totems are going to be a great start for farming items. While I wouldn’t really try to farm in normal, Shattered Realm might be a decent chance to get a lot of loot at once to look at.
