I’ve got this quest which means getting past a nasty green area to get to the mineshaft. It’s far too long, so I wonder if fast boots would be the answer? The best I’ve got have +6% speed which is not enough. Where can I get some? A vendor, or make some, or a trade? Or is there another solution?

You have to use and Aether Cluster. It reduces incoming damage by 75%. You can do it differently, using potions and healing skills.

also theres a spot you can get off the green stretch about halfway down & heal yourself before attempting second part

You can do it with potions alone, with proper timing. There is a safe spot mid-way. With HP regen and healing skills one can trivialize that.

Thanks for all your help. I used the Aether Cluster and it worked fine. I used another couple to get the boss down, which took a while. I’m quite pleased to get that done, actually!
