Let us control zoom level of mini-map

I sometimes find myself running with big map open, which doesn’t feel like its intended use. I wondered why I did that and came to a conclusion, that zoom level of mini-map is too close for covering long distances. So I cut out pieces of zoomed out map to see what it would look like in place of mini-map and was pleased with the results:

Can we perhaps use mouse scroll on the mini-map to change its zoom level?

that would make the minimap way more handy, and somewhat less need to open the big map “constantly”
