Leveling and following guides

I am kinda getting into grim dawn again and am trying builds. What I do not get is how build makers usually play the game to reach 30 to 40s while at the same time finishing the main game (for example) in their guide. I tend to explore fully before I proceed to the next area, doing sidequests, etc., and reached at least level 50+ after just the main game in normal.

How do people play the guides? I am just curious on how they play.

*I don’t follow guides like that
My guess has always been guides are like a middle-ground between speed levelling and “blind”/regular full clears, meant to get you to 100 decent’ish without zooming past everything; but also without a bunch of fluff contra full clear. Like a character “guideline”/blueprint that’s open enough you can deviate but fixed/framed enough to be reliable for fast’ish or thorough campaign clears.

For me doing a regular full gameplay means clearing every boss, every dungeon, including side areas and optional non quest bosses; and optional side bosses “not related to my build”(drop wise).
^this naturally means it takes longer to reach Ultimate/end, also because i play on veteran it’s additionally increased ofc.

But i don’t get the impression all beginner/levelling guides spends time clearing a lot of optional/side area or non quest boss stuff without reward, if a build doesn’t need like an MI etc.
And i must kill every violet named boss, and clear all the 5 skeleton dungeons too, shrines etc, (even if i don’t full clear maps for trash)

it might be easier to ask the guide authors how they play/clear content wise, and how much is skipped for efficiency/normalizing end goal for beginners vs deliberately done for fun/challenge (key dungeons etc side fights)

When you have over 200 + successful runs you naturally start to stick to the objectives rather than explore and kill every mob , it’s just how the brain processes the game , so we build creators end up naturally faster than average players or beginners
