Leveling idea when expansion comes out for old players.

First of all great game no doubt.
I have spend 1700 hours so far. Havent played in long time now since in totally burned out in the old areas.
I know small company takes time on making things wich I understand and dont have a problem with at all.
Looking forward to the expansion.
But have in mind some of us that have been in the game since beta, have really been running the game every map/place alot times.
Myself cant get the joy anymore running the old areas Im really burned out on those tbh.
Not that the areas isnt good or anything for new players and some old players aswell, but at a point you really feel like now you have seen that part enough like me.
Ill suggest when expansion comes out and maybe players that have 1000+ hours in the game should have the option to make a new character at lvl 85 with the 50 devotion points.
Many have alot items in chests that can equip a new character.
That would be great so we can start at the new area when expansion comes out so we dont have to start all over in the old content.
Ofcause you have to farm your factions if you want you should not get it all just the level 85+50 devotion and thats it.
Ok it require Ultimate unlocked but that must just be a simple programming thing.
I hope you will take this serious, call it a reward for many hours played:)

John

If you want to run the new area, take your existing level 85 chars and run through the new area, not sure why you would need to create a new one for that

How do you measure that 1000 Hours? Not everyone uses Steam, and I don’t keep GOG Galaxy running all the time. Actually, I don’t even know if Galaxy tracks my hours. I do know I was playing GD before Galaxy was released though, so it’d be inaccurate anyways.

Like mamba said, use your existing lvl 85 builds and discover the new area…

having so many hours in this game doesn’t do anything or should give a player any privilege 7574

I personally fail to see any advantage / fun of having a naked lvl85 char in ultimate and hoping you might have some kit for it, but if that’s something you really fancy, then there are various modding tools about to do this yourself with and the game is fully moddable.

As you maybe know there will be 2 new classes wich would make you start all over if you wanna try them, that can a lvl 85 finish character not help you with.
And 1 asked about how i know I have played 1700 hours. I know that cause when using steam you can see how many hours you have played a game

It was just a suggestion I know i can use tolls wich i think is kind of cheat at least when leveling is about but if thats nessesary then Ill use those.

Its a very slow growing game, so many have played it alot. But I see my suggestion didnt fit well so I guess ill use modding or other kind of things when the expansion comes out.

But ty for the feedback atleast

PS. I hope the necromancer turns out better than the one we get in D3

This existed in TQ, it was called TQ Mercury mod, I will copy/paste the descriptions from http://marinesbadcompany.forumcommunity.net/?t=27567944 below so you can figure out what it does and get started on one for GD.

Let us know when the mod is ready, I am sure people will want it.

This hack adds/changes two things in the game. First, every difficulty
level of the campaign is accessible by every character new and old.
Simply choose the difficulty at the character screen just like you
usually would. The second part of this hacks changes the NPC Iolaus
in Helios. If you speak with him, he gives you all the quest rewards
the earlier difficulties would have given you, levels you up, gives
you gold and some random items.

The idea is, that if you create a new character and skip normal or
even epic difficulty, that Iolaus will give your character everything
he missed at those lower difficulties. It is not recommended to speak
with Iolaus if you are not playing a brand new character.

Simply create a new character, join directly epic or legendary difficulty
and go speak to Iolaus. The picture button at the bottom will show you a
picture of him.

Installation
============
None required. Simply extract the executable and run it. There are three
buttons in the interface, one to enable the hack, another to disable it
and a third to show you where Iolaus can be found. The tool checks your
installation to see what option is currently chosen and then enables the
options available to you.

History
=======
07.05.2007
Added option to patch Tq and IT each for itself. A side effect is, that it
is now compatible with Titan Quest even without Immortal Throne. Further-
more I've added all the bonuses from the addon to the IT part.

So you’ve spent 1700 hours already but spending another two hundreds leveling new characters is too much to the point you need cheats?

Apparently so, but what difference does it make? That’s how they want to play the game. GD supports this play style by allowing the game to be modded.

Edit: There was a whole thread about this issue that would be a better place to discuss it. I’m not intending this response to start that discussion again.
I’ll try to find that thread and post a link here.

Edit 2: Here’s the thread, enjoy! [thread=29771]HEXED: Why it bothers you[/thread]

If you think about it what you are asking the devs to do would actually be a cheat. A cheat with “legit” makeup.

The beauty of a moddable game where the devs don’t mind that you make use of community tools is that they don’t have to implement features like this (and can better spend their time and resources on more important things). They are already available, and frankly if you’ve played enough that you no longer enjoy certain aspects that you want to skip then you shouldn’t feel bad about making use of what’s available.

agreed, nor should it. I do not think you should be able to create a new level 85 Inquisitor or Necromancer.

It was just a suggestion I know i can use tolls wich i think is kind of cheat at least when leveling is about but if thats nessesary then Ill use those.

use the tools then

I don’t think the game should support creating high level chars.
