I get the argument with items completely. I had the thought process with I think the Dawnshard items that feel all over the place but I also just accepted that “some of this is for a different char”. My issue here was with the skill specifically and there qre others that also feel like they have too much different stuff but you can somehow focus on certain traits based on the mastery. I think phantsmal blades even gets chaos dmg later on? Why? It feels like dead skillpoints almost because you likely dont have chaos gear as a nb. The lightning/chaos item honestly I cant find anymore. For all I know I misread something. Regardless though, it feels weird to even figure out a Chaos-build because it feels very poorly or at least awkwardly supported by the masteries.
I am aware of the guide but knowing of conversion and actually knowing the ways to access it beyond “some transmuters and items do this” is a big difference. You may stumble upon the MI that converts 100% of one dmg type to a different one that suddenly turns the skills from “what is this” to “damn this feels good” but most wont. As I saod conversion in the game is completely fine but mastery skills should.be accessible without it imo.
