I know some class are better at leveling (Arcanist and Demo come to mind) but you can’t always be playing a character with a mix having at least one of those classes. Some have a good first step (looking a Devouring Swarm Shaman) but considering that I want to build a character for what I consider being “main Set look” (Head+Shoulder+Chest Piece) I will need to go to class that doesn’t have those easy leveling process.
Right now I having trouble with Soldier
A) I have a Warder (Will wear Bloodrager at level 68) that is moving SLOWLY (very very slowly) since he did reach 50. I did start with Shaman got from 1-25 really fast than swapped to 2H till I did reach 40 (Perdition Set for Retalition). It was running well till 50…I’m now 58 and each time I log on the character it is a pain to level. I think that once I reach my Gear (68) it will change it by giving me the damage I’m lacking right now.
Honestly what I’m doing wrong ? (50 Soldier 25 Shaman limit my option) and what would be the solution to level that kind of build at this point in the game.
B) I LOVE the look of Markovian so I know I’ll be doing a Soldier pretty soon (as with the exception of my previously mentionned Warder my character are now all in their 80). Obviously that translate to 50 Soldier Mastery to make advantage of the set item and bring out the question. How the hell do you level a damn Soldier ?
Maybe it is “my fault” first char was DEE Occultist (Witchblade at level 55), #2 was Sorcerer #3 was Elementalist #4 was Arcanist (did make him a Sorcerer at level 75), #5 is a Spellbreaker (once again Arcanist till far in the game) and I got too much of the good stuff (Leveling with DEE than PRM than 2 more with OFF / Greater Fireblast). It might not be that Soldier is THAT DAMN SLOW but more that I did mostly play Super fast character previously ? Or should I be able to acheive some kind of acceptable speed with Soldier at least?
My current setup since level 50 is based on Blade Arc (did try transmuted and not) did try to add Counter-Strike. In Melee it ain’t that bad (Counter-Strike does seem to help a lot) but facing caster or range it is very slow.
18/16 and 11/12 currently (with Transmuter). Counter-Strike is maxed (making Melee faster but zone with lot of Range/Caster seems painfully slow) and right now using Oleron Rage also maxed (maybe I would be better with Bulwark?).
Shaman side is Wendigo and Mogdrogen line.
Like I added this might end up with me being “spoiled” by how fast my previous character were…
I personally opt for Forcewave with a 2-hander. I have used BA as well before, but I found Forcewave much more enjoyable - it clears groups of trash quickly while maintaining solid damage against bosses/heroes. After the buffs I jumped back on my commando who was using it and I am having a blast. I was melting everything at your level and with some decent gear it is mowing through Ultimate.
I agree. Besides being an excellent skill to level up Soldier builds, it’s surprisingly strong. After leveling a Physical Forcewave Commando, i’m now hoping the expansion has a 2H legendary sword with 50% base armor piercing, so that i can do some shenanigans with 100% Pierce Forcewave Blademaster.
Because god knows pierce needs some variety instead of just being good for 1h swords. Which is not even very good now because of the recent nerfs.
I did some test tonight swapped couple of piece to make it more friendly for a 2h Build. Took the Stonefist Rebuke removed the transmuster for Blade Arc and it did change everything. Obviously it is not the madness that Arcanist is but I was able to clear Grove / Darkvale in something that felt normal and not a slow painfull walk. The boss was a long fight but I can stand toe-to-toe with them so this is to be expected. At least now I kill the white mob on hit or on Bleeding Duration.
Thanks for the advice I will keep Forcewave in mind for my other Soldier if I like it might decide to make it Justicar (I didn’t really catch on with Forcewave but Justicar has an amazing look IMO) instead of Markovian for him!
