LF DW slaughtering machine

Sup guys

Recently bought the new expansion and want to try a two weapon fighting machine. NOT a scared little rogue type guy, but a real DW Cuisinart

I love the feel of old DW classes, where you go in and just kill stuff so fast, that the enemy doesn’t have time to hit you back. Something simple, i’m no piano expert lol (aka not to buttons smashing)

Played a Warden, and a Deathknight in AoM, so i got few items in stash, and bunch of mats.

Thanks guys for advice in a build i would like

Best DW-slaugthering machines would be Deathmarked Infiltrators, but they have a bit too many buttons probably. The simpliest one is Belgothian Blademaster, but it might be a bit squishy and it’s not easy to set up without greens without sacrificing some of its damage.

I have recently updated my DW physical Death Knight and since you have mentioned you got Death Knight and since I like to shamelessly promote my own builds, here you go. Personally, I like very much how it feels in the latest patch: 88% wps pool and removal of Terrify from Necromancer make it really fun to play.

I haven’t gotten around to making it yet but here’s a DW firestrike shieldbreaker https://www.grimtools.com/calc/62a1vAO2 that I intend to try out eventually

You most definitely forgot to add attack speed to that build.

Indeed. Double rare maces is not the way to go, simple of alacrity gives much higher damage, but double rares are shiny I guess

Those double rares could be brutal, he just needs to change suffixes to the ones that give attack speed and get a pair of Justicar gloves.

so something like this? https://www.grimtools.com/calc/m23JXmEN

More like something like this. I haven’t touched augments or gear (except the relic and suffixes on the weapon), OA and DA still need a lot of work.

Pick your targets : just Campaign, just Crucible, just Mogdrogen/Ravager/Callagadra, single-target or multi-targets build ?

What class & damage type do your prefer ?

Drug-free or full-pharma build ?

Don’t need special build for campaign, easy enough
i want to be able to do Cruci, new arena thing of FG, Nemesis and boss

When i said no buttons smashing, i meant, no special order or pattern needed to play the build. Some builds are so complex, took off the fun for me…
A few skills, for options and some buffs is perfect

Like a good old dagger rogue from WoW: 2 weapons, fast attacks, stuff die, rince and repeat

Then you should try then Deathmarked Infiltrator or Blademaster. Both offers huge damage and reasonable survivability.DK with Krieg set is option too.

Blademaster, Trickster or Infiltrator. Type of damage is up to you.

So, Crucible & SR

Blademaster, you can even cut off skills according your items, your style, your way

For deeper shards, buff potions should be taken for smoother SR

If you are a big fan of Carnage-style like this

“Armor once worn by the infamous master Nightblade, Belgothian, whose reckless carnage and thirst for blood made even his employers uneasy.”

My brother nightblades have their methods, and I have mine. There are no innocents." The more carnage and devastation you cause, the easier it becomes to do so once again

Then Belgothian’s Slaughter set that you can’t miss !

Here’s a very easy to gear DW Reaper. He’s a lifesteal machine and is nigh-invincible. Note that I have a pretty good Heart of Theodin Marcell that I got from a friend but you can farm for that weapon pretty easily. You can also replace Manticore devotion with Revenant which gets you some skeleton friends.

I always played S&B tank characters since i’m lazy and prefered to safely facetank everything but i recently tried couple of DW builds since apparently just sucking life from attacks is better than not taking damage:

Blademaster - full pierce conversion with Dermapteran Slicer. With 4 WPS skills he has suprisingly good aoe capabilities and strong single target damage. At around level 70 i noticed he slowed down considerably though but that might be fault of equpment?

Saboteur - full fire (duh), suprised me greatly since i didnt think it would be this good. Much faster trash clear but slightly slower single target at the begining. After i got to Brimstone it surpassed Blademasters damage at all fronts and I personaly like it better with Blast Shield and Vindictive Flame. Didnt slow down at all at level 70. I miss Squad Tactics and Scars of Battle though ;p (Soulfire is the best looking sword in the entire game and whoever claims otherwhise is a big fat liar)

Death knight - I went Aether. Reaping strike is simply ridiculus. “The best defense is a good offense” was never proved better than by this thing. With high attack speed DW provides it procs ALL THE TIME. When you add Siphon Souls for AoE it was the best experience out of the tree I tried so far. Harbringer of Souls gives you even more ADctH and Attack Speed (if only it converted physical to Aether T-T). I cant wait till I get my hands on Seal of Corruption for Aether Corruption skill. As for clear time i didnt even notice when i hit level 75.

I started all 3 on Ultimate Difficulty and they managed fairly well with order of Death Knight < Saboteur << Blademaster. I managed to kill some 74lvl Nemesis on all 3. F*** Iron Maiden though. I plan to try much more DW builds. Didnt expect they would be so much more fun than tank builds. Then again until recently i sucked at doing devotions by myself …

Oki guys

First: thanks for the inputs, much appreciated

I looked up a few builds based on recommendations, most of them are kinda old dho (like last year) i like the following:

  1. Belgo blade master - infiltrator
  2. Deathmarked blade master - infiltrator

Belgo strike or cadence for default skill?

Which one is tougher? (HP, def, buffs)

Belgo strikes as a auto-attack replacer, Deady Momentum (DM) modifier from Cadence as a universal buff (specially you have 100% armor piercing, flat physical damage from DM converted to pierce) => damage will easily reach > 100K

Universal buff : not only a buff for Belgo Strike, but also other skills, item skills , even devotion procs

Both BM and Infiltrator are good classes.I personally prefer cold Infiltrator.Cold have double RR,DoT compartment, chance to freeze enemies and versatile devotions. Also Inquisitor provides damage reduction from Censure, second heal and Inquisitor seal for defensive tool.

For dw obviously you want a nightblade. There are a few good dw non-nightblade builds but for a first playthrough I don’t think it’s necessary to explore that.

The other class depends on the kind of damage you feel like playing around. Avoid saboteur (+demo), and to a lesser extent reaper (+necro) and spellbreaker (+arcanist). The other classes can all produce top-tier builds.

As for damage types, ofc the ones supported by nightblade are all top-tier: pierce, cold and acid. Pierce currently has top single target damage, cold is great all-around and acid has best AoE plus quite strong DoT (Damage over Time). There is also bleed that has ridiculous DoT on one superstrong build but until you get to endgame with all required gear you can forget about bleed.

About Bleeding:
Absolutely not true. With Trickster you gain easy RR early ingame and there are a lot of items supporting it. Even more RR because Revenant is easy to get early.
