Lifesavers!

To Arthur Bruno and all of the other amazing employees at Crate,

You have helped me through the toughest years of my life. You can get a brief recap by reading some of my public posts on FB here. The TLDR is i fought an extremely rare brain cancer called Primary Central Nervous System Lymphoma (PCNSL) for short.

I have been a Grim Dawn supporter since the early access days - I even posted a video of my first Log kill on HC difficulty and did a little happy dance. I’ve put in over 6k hrs on Steam and a whole ton more on my Series X. It’s safe to say GD is in my muscle memory because I was able to play and enjoy at while working with roughly 30% brain power. Whether it was sickness from a bipolar episode or theis fight against cancer Grim Dawn has been wtih me every step of the way. I never get sick of playing around with new build ideas and embarassingly after all of that time I still haven’t 100% the game. I’m taking my time to smell the roses as it were.

A huge shoutout to all of the forum vets, your advice and build guides have helped a ton when I get in a rut or when I need cookie cutter instructions to follow because I’m so wiped from the cancer and chemo.

Thanks again!

Peace, Love & Kitties,

Baru

Thank you for sharing!

It’s one of the most endearing things as a game developer to hear your work has helped someone out in difficult times. You hear about people pushing humanity forward with cures for diseases and technology that makes lives easier, and here we are making products to “waste” people’s time . So it’s nice to be reminded gaming has its purpose, even if it’s not always the most obvious.

And glad you’re sticking around for what’s still coming to Grim Dawn.
