List of all buildings

Hi. Im kinda new to this game and played only for 2 hours. Is there a way to see all the buildings that already been placed and see their location? Thanks

As you may have figured by the lack of reply, the answer is no. Hopefully that will change in the future, but this isn’t the fastest moving beta release on the planet!

Not directly but if you want to build a specific building (i don’t remember if it’s just hovering over the building or clicking it to build) you can see a number how often this one was built already.

you can also click the left and right arrow in building menu to rotate through each building of the same type.

well, thanks for reply. The problem is that before clicking an arrows i firstly need to find the building on the map, and its kinda hard to do when you dont remember tha visual model of that building or where its located

I know it’s not a great workaround, but if you go to the workers pool window under the population/labor management window, you can click on that specific building and it’ll take you to it. The window pops up when you hover over the age brackets population display in the left hand side of the screen. It’ll take you to the first of whichever building you click on the magnifying glass for.
I agree though - a list of buildings is needed.

that is what the arrows are for

That doesn’t work if you don’t know where one of the buildings are in the first place, or get disoriented. It happens to me a lot.

What are you talking about? Of course you know where they are in the first place
because they are in the building menu. THAT is the starting point. The whole point of
the building count total and find/search arrows is to help you in the exact situation you
are in.

You can also select a building to build then move it to the map but do not drop
it and the others will show on the map.

Anyway they added this feature because of the nexus mod which does this (pic incoming)

if you look at the building menu in the pic you see how many of each building you have
and the arrows to map jump to each one. Now the devs added the arrows at the very top
of the building’s itself window. I would post a pic but I am not playing right
now so… you get the nexus mod version lol

…On the landscape, Groovy.
I’m speaking from personal experience where I ACTIVELY have trouble finding certain buildings - usually forager or hunters huts - because I can’t remember what part of the landscape I put them in. Having the information that I’ve built x number of buildings isn’t helpful if I can’t find one to start with, which has happened several times.

I should add I don’t have those features.

yes on landscape is how it map jumps. you do have the feature if you have 8+ version
Now I said the nexus mod is better because it is more straight forward and you do not
need to know where any are. So install that mod it was made for you lol

That being said I am shocked you do not know where even 1 building is. So if you
do not want to install a mod then do what I said above “You can also select a building
to build then move it to the map but do not drop it and the others will show on the map”
easy to find stuff when lit up with giant circles.

I suggest you find the closest forager and hunter shacks then camera bookmark them.
leftcontrol + alt + 1 will save the camera position. then leftcontrol + 1 will take you there instantly
just like the town hall button. IICR you can set 10 of these.
leftcontrol + alt + 1
leftcontrol + alt + 2
etc…

since you will always be able to find the first one then finding the rest is cake

Sigh.
I think you’re missing some of my points, but I give up. I do not have those features. I have the most recent version of 9.x and do not have those features.
I know where the buildings are on good days, but I have a cognitive disability which interferes with my memory and ability to orient myself in the game. The last part of your post was quite helpful, but your previous posts have been downright frustrating. I shouldn’t have to explain my disability for you to consider that someone else might have a different experience with the game then yourself.

I am not complaining about the game, nor do I believe the OP was.

This will be my last reply, as I don’t want to hijack Kontroman’s post.

Nah, its good, im reading all the answers  But i agree with you - as a usual player i dont want to download and install mods to be able to normally play this game. Watching Groovy`s screenshot - I noticed that minimap also could be very helpful in future updates

Devs have already said they’ll be adding a mini-map at some point.

I’m not missing your point I told you exactly what to do BECAUSE I totally understand.

You do have those features. You posted a pic of the buildings menu.
the arrows are not there. They are on the building itself window.
I’ll post a pic for you. Of the location so you know what to do.

I say you should install the nexus mod. That is the pic I uploaded.

yeah I use the managing mods only. mini map is super awesome.

the building list mod I used to use but when they added it to the game itself
I removed it. (now I will go take a pic of the game for Qalie)

ok here are some pics

ok look in first pic I circled the arrows with red. First pic I have a hunter cabin select.
Look at the hunter cabin window at top see the arrows? I then press left arrow
and it jumps me to pic #2 instantly. If you keep hitting the arrows you will rotate
through all the hunter cabins. They all get lit up with circles also. The current
selection is yellow and the others are white. Use leftcontrol + alt + 1 to book mark
one of them. Then you can find the rest really fast with arrows.

If still having trouble then make roads to these far off places.
or get stone and make landmarks you can follow.
or use stone to make giant

on the map to help to orientate yourself

I also have issues with memory like Qualie. I go to the window that shows all of the possible proffessions. (‘P’ on your keyboard.) Find the building type you are looking for and on the far right is a magnifying glass. This will take you to one of the villagers that works in that job. Most of the time they are at work or very close by making it easier to find that one elusive building! If they are wandering use the magnifying glass again to see the next worker. If you only have one worker of that type then zoom in and enjoy a wander through the village you created!

I personnaly don’t see the sense in ‘playtesting’ a game if you are useing mods. We are supposed to be testing a product that Crate has created not testing a modification created by someone from outside the company. I will happily wait for Crates developers to create the perfect game that they envisioned, after all, they are doing a spectacular job so far!

I said I wasn’t going to reply again, but the thread is becoming quite productive, so here goes.

This is the main work around I use, but the problem with that is just that - its a workaround. When you have to go to multiple different windows to find information, sometimes with multiple clickthroughs (IE opening the labor window, then clicking the magnifying glass) then there’s something missing.

For example, the information on the number of buildings is in the building list; to get to specific buildings, you have to click the magnifying glass, which is in a separate window. For a lot of non-beta testing players, that kind of thing would be off putting, because of the multiple steps involved. Now, I realize mods will address many things that the game devs can’t or don’t implement after release, but on the other hand there are certain elements that should be key.
Given that the UI is quite functional already, I think adding the list of buildings or the mini map are both viable options, although personally I’d like both for different reasons; they would provide a single window for the multiple-step process I just listed.

River, I agree with you on the use of mods in an early access game - that tends to make bug testing more prone to problems not native to the game itself, and alters the experience we’re supposed to be reporting on.
