lol 30k dps not enough for Valbury?

So i just had about 30 minute fight with the final boss, playing 1h warden- absolutely destroyed everything else in the dungeon, very high armor, etc, with 30k dps, but the final boss can simply heal through it. whichever of them is getting attacked gets a HUGE heal and bubble shield after a while, and basically resets my damage.

in 30 minutes i killed one advisor. couldn’t get the other two below 10% they just kept resetting the damage. that is totally ridiculous.

I haven’t fully figured out every mechanic of the fight yet but i suggest always killing Van Aldritch first.

I had the exact same experience playing 1h Markovian Warder on that fight the first time, except i did manage to kill them. It took me about 15 minutes, and countless curse words and angry gestures, until i tried saving up my cooldowns for right when the bubble dropped off one of them. There’s enough time before the next bubble to get a couple blitzes and shield slams in to finish him. However, despite that time being far and away the toughest time i had beating him of all 60ish attempts across all my toons, it’s the one time the Decree actually dropped for me.

I have a two-hand warder and I had a similar experience. I easily waded through the entirety of the area (including flames of valbury area), then got to the trio and encountered something of a wall.

I managed to get one of the “lesser” ones down with some cooldown management, but once that one went down, it seemed impossible for me to get anything done anymore. I must have tried for a good 15-20 minutes before I just had to give up.

I’m not quite sure how to feel about it, as this character was been able to take down every boss in the game on ultimate without much issue. Maybe I need to give it another shot. It’s just frustrating taking the hour or so to get there, only to end in disappointment. I love the idea and mechanics behind the fight though, for sure.

Same story for me. I had a Witchblade Warborn build, spread the damage around and took down the two minor guys - after some minutes of fighting. But I could not get Van Aldritch down to zero health before he healed back up. Figuring that out took another 15 minutes or more. I even tried Elixir of the Ancient and others.
In the end, in pure desperation I swapped my Warborn Gavel for Stormheart (I carried that because of the quest), and see and behold, that did the trick. He was down in mere minutes, and the damage progress was clearly better.

I can only guess that he has good physical resistance.

I was a warborn build without the shoulder and with second-grade rings, though.

30%, whereas his Lightning resist is substantially higher than that.
