Looking for easy to get going Aegis of Menhir build

Looking for something that can be started on faction gear + relatively easy to farm MI for Aegis of Menhir so i can farm ultimate at an allright speed

I am working on a guide for that now. You can find a preview of the build here http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showpost.php?p=710652&postcount=712

You have to figure out where to get the items before I have written the guide, I do not have time to answer questions and stuff now

I know you said you don’t have time to answer questions, so sorry :P, but was just wondering if you think this is HC viable.

Thanks

  1. I mean if you are an experienced hardcore player you kinda know what is viable or not and can thus answer that question yourself

  2. HC is more item dependent and you need to lower damage potential in terms of surival

  3. HC is more about game knowledge and piloting

I will also make some sentiel variation with the Mythical Perdition set (the empowered version is also pretty decent)

Decided to put my other build on hold and try out your budget concept on how it would work for someone that has no gear at all when starting the build and ended up with https://www.grimtools.com/calc/dVbdre4N after clearing all of ultimate campaign and some BoC and SoT farming

There you go  I will try to start writing the guide next week. I am glad that it worked for you

I saw that you figured out one of my “alternative devotion setups” going with Hydra instead of Bat.

The hardest bosses I have done so far with this build is Master of Flesh and the “lightning boss” in the Temple of Osyr. They require some good piloting and timing.

I have some questions regarding the skills. Why did you put so many points into Rebuke? I would think that pushing OA/DA (Presence of Virtue and Resillience) would be more important. Beside that, is it worthy to go over level 10 in Avenging shield? It does not increase the affected targets. The next breakpoint would be at 18 skillpoints with 5 targets.

The link I sent was a draft, I have made some changes and I also have a list of breakpoints and alternative gearing.

But it is nice that you ask questions.

Rebuke is just to have higher life reduction resistance, I have written in the guide that it can be left as a one point wonder and that the points can be spent elsewhere.

More avenging shield is basically more crit dmg. After all, Aegis is like 20% of damage output anyway (most is Rune and meteors)

As a weapon upgrade, consider blazeheart from daila secret quest

I myself is probably staying with the ugdenbog repeater until i can gather a set or find some alternative other than blazeheart cause im not a big fan of that

Blazeheart is probably BiS for fire aegis?

Ok guide is up now, draft version still http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=82762

You can give me feedback in PM if you are interested but do not reply in the thread yet. I will update it several times per day

I definitely see the appeal of blazeheart but i think you’re giving up too much OA switching from hydra to bat. but i could very well be wrong but from my experience trying out both i felt more consistant damage output with the repeater

The OA gain is not that much at this level. +1 all skills, increased burn on Aegis is huge (plus you can use a second enchanted flint)

And as many have complained about already, paladin with a gun? what is that :stuck_out_tongue:

I am working currently on fire Aegis Shieldbreaker.Blazeheart burn damage is hard to be substituted, but downside is you have to sacrifice some points to go in cunning.Caping resistances on Demo mastery is pita and I think Paladin may be better with almost perma ascension and seal on top, blast shield requires more precision.

Ah cool, I was thinking about making a Shieldbraeker version too for my guide

Crap i didn’t realize that i could have 2 enchanted flint. tried it out a bit now and my grim internals DPS has gone up by 60k since i switched to Blazefire and bat. didnt take word of pain though for proc so invested more into ascension

Have you guys tried Acid Aegis ? I tried this build and I don’t understand why it feels so squishy.
Fire Virtue Aegis (Paladin) is quite good compared to it. I might try it on Sentinel if I can’t make Acid AoM work.

I have a Mythical Perdition Sentinel I wanna do some kind of “guide” for later :stuck_out_tongue:

Sick that you already have all those FG items

I don’t. I have my dozen legit toons and 2 GDstash-laboratory toons where I test different builds.

I knew you were a mad scientist
