I want a sword+board build that is not gear dependent, so I can complete ultimate only with gear I find, no Markovian set piece etc
Any suggestion? Thanks

Cadence WitchBlade
Cadence Commando
Cadence Warder
Witchblade is probably the least gear-dependant, cause he has +100% poison resist.
Yes, all those builds are showcased in Warborn/Markovian with lots of cool items, but they can shine even without them. Sure, their DPS wont be so great, and tankiness will be lower, but still they will be strong. Cadence and Blitz are the least gear-dependant Soldier skills, imo.

Seriously though, you can build very freely around the core offensive combo of cadence/blitz. Cadence gives tremendous single target output and blitz gives a burst of damage that can be applied to densely packed groups every few seconds. The soldier passives are great, and overguard is very helpful even after the changes it received recently. Focus on soldier and grab passives and utility skills (flashbang, pneumatic burst, blood of dreeg, etc) from your secondary class. I recommend Witchblade or Blademaster but Commando is fantastic too.
