Loot Degradation On Ultimate

[Post removed]

It´s all about RNG. No matter how many chaches there are, theres is no guaranty, that you´d get a legendary from any of them.

Would you really want to feel obligated to farm a certain boss over and over? :undecided:
If you want “easy legendaries”, do Steps of Torment or Bastion of Chaos runs, takes about the same time as reaching the end boss, and you get some guaranteed legendaries.

You can get good loot from a multitude of sources in GD, even just running around killing hero mobs will get you showered in legs. (RNG rules still apply of course.)

As far as I know one of the chests here functions as the one-shot chest, so you always get one epic/legendary from it when you open it for the first time.

Don’t misunderstand: I’m not concerned about “easy legendaries” or defeating RNG. My suggestion was not to keep the cache that is guaranteed to drop a legendary. My suggestion is only that one of them stick around and continue to have a decent loot table. This would make it worth beating the boss over again in addition to clearing out the heroes that precede it, without causing major damage to any of the other content. That is the legitimate substance of my suggestion here, as I outlined in my original post.

The only point to farming the final boss is for his MI and that’s it. Legendaries are better farmed elsewhere and even if Crate decided to up the loot on this encounter by the 10th run you’d probably want to farm something else regardless.

If the loot table was kept commensurate with the effort required to come back and do it again, then it might be made to be worth it, (at least for awhile,) which would add value to replaying content that you’re otherwise not going to have a reason to visit again. Part of the suggestion does have to do with the fact that this is the final difficulty and you’re genuinely not going to have an incentive for further interaction with that content unless you replay the game. Other games continue to reward replay on the highest difficulty in recognition of this fact. It just makes sense to me to make that at least moderately rewarding indefinitely so people have another way to get some decent gear instead of it being pointless forever. I still fail to see what other content would be harmed in doing this.

There are already a few reasons to run the fleshworks. Looking for the nemesis, farming krieg, and … well, for fun. And since you are already down there, you migh as well kill then endboss.
And truly, I can´t think of any area in GD that was totally pointless to revisit.
Decent gear can be found from any wooden chest, hero, boss…
If some encounter has a higher chance than others to drop decent gear, people will feel obligated to runs this encounter more. And GD rewards playing on Ultimate already, drop rates are far better.Just saying.

So in what way does that invalidate the suggestion that I’m making here? I don’t see how any of that changes if you keep a chest for bosses on Ultimate, especially the final one, to give you. Just because there are things that might be better to farm doesn’t mean that loot shouldn’t be there so you can get it if you want it. And, I mean, replay value is not a negative thing as far as I’m aware; Even if the loot was decent, unless it was just insane, it wouldn’t really obligate you farm this over something else.

(Edit: Added last point in last 2 sentences.)
