The latest patches of the game have taken away interest in the game.
Because it has become very easy to play (even on the “absolute” difficulty level).
I hope that in the new patches (with the new addon “Fangs of asterkarn”) - the game difficulty (that was before version 1.2.0.5, or even earlier) will return.

Have you tried playing a classless build?
Try some of the various mods around if you do like the game still but find it too easy. Those might spice it up again.
Makes the posts complaining about Sunder making the game too hard more funny.
I don’t see decrease in difficulty much in the last couple of years. A lot more builds can do SR 80. Few can do SR85 and very few can do SR 90. I would say that the game is becoming more balanced and more builds are viable… And overperformes get nerfed… And with the new changes I would say that the game is just different. Main campaign is easy for a long time…
Also celestials got way harder.
Pat yourself on the back then, because the difficulty actually increased overall with recent updates to realign the campaign and various monsters with years of power creep. I guess you got gud!

Guess what’s left then is a thread about how the game is too perfectly balanced.
Delete your whole stash and play SSF on Hardcore. Jump straight into Ultimate and you will have your challenge. Unless you are playing Pets, those are still super-easy mode regardless of difficulty settings and permadeath.
With a finished build? The campaign was easy even before 1.2.0.5 or earlier.
With a finished build, if you want to up the challenge then you need to get high level Shattered Realm, Crucible, or go fight the Celestial bosses.

Well I guess it must be nice to either have an unlimited time to play the game or be one of those gamer savants. Maybe try playing it blindfolded or as someone else suggested, play something else. The reason I’ve lost interest in the game is the complete opposite. I took a break for around 6 months only to come back & get repeatedly stomped near the beginning of the one lost oasis dungeon that requires a skeleton key. Every-freakin-time, a nemesis spawns in it. This has to be the dumbest thing I’ve seen yet. Like wtf, this is only in Elite. Am I suppose to start farming a bunch of rare components so I can make a lot of skeleton keys now just to figure out how to beat it? Screw that. I have maxed resistances on a Spellbinder that uses this build: Albrecht’s Aether Ray Spellbinder
So its not like as if I’m trying to do it with a sub-standard build.
Imo, if you have to keep making the pre-existing content harder and harder, and yet harder again because of other stuff you’ve been adding, that means you’re breaking the game. “Power creep” is one of the symptoms. I mean, if you want to add something to the game, which then in turn requires you to adjust, nerf, buff a bunch of other stuff, does it really need to be in the freakin game in the first place?

you’re doing new content, not old, and complaining a new nemesis is spawning there/“new content is tough” - but somehow blaming it on the old content getting buffed?
*also fwiw, that build should be able to deal with Kaisan, handedly, even on Elite
Define “new content”. I’ve completed the whole area of FG on elite difficulty before like several months ago & never had a nemesis spawn in the first half of the Court of the Magi, which to my knowledge, wasn’t listed as one of his spawn areas. Its stupid and only serves to make us needlessly burn through skeleton keys trying to figure out how to kill him.
yes, that part is changed, - nemesis don’t have fixed/static spawns now, but if you can beat kaisan elsewhere, why is it suddenly an issue he can spawn there now?
*altering nemesis spawn point isn’t an anti powercreep thing, it’s a thematic thing/design change to make it as devs always “wished” but couldn’t implement originally
Nemeses can spawn now anywhere as long members of their faction are in the area. So Kaisan also spawns in the Tomb of the Heretic because the monsters there are from the Eldritch faction.
Install some mods that increase the champion mobs rate so you fight 3 or 4 of them every pack.
It will feel extreme at first but you’ll get used to the extra difficulty.
Don’t recommend going above the first increased spawn option though…
If feeling a bit jaded with the difficulty.
Try the community Season 7 mod when it hopefully launches sometime this year (they are currently testing).
This has ambush and ghost ambush Nemesis mechanics that are a lot tougher, with a tree designed to enable scaling the ambush to be pushed even more (risk vs reward), along with scaling skeleton key dungeons comparable to SR (additional challenging boss rooms at higher level dungeons).
And with harder new content and new celestial bosses.

Many monster abilities are broken right now, so the game is easier than it should be.
It’s also true that most of us got better at the game. I remember when I struggled to beat act1 in HC Vet. Now I’ve started playing new chars in HC Ultimate, and I’m doing alright. Veteran now seems really boring by comparison.
