Low FPS / Screen flickering Issue

Hello (I’m from Switzerland, i beg your pardon for my english…)

I’ve purchased GD with all DLC’s recently.
Great game:)

Just two things that are grinding my gears :furious:

First things first:

  • AMD R7 1800X @ stock clock
  • 32GB DDR4-2933
  • 1080Ti @ stock clock
  • AOC UWQHD 3440x1440 @ 100Hz G-Sync monitor
  • Win10 Pro 64bit

About the FPS drops:
You see, i can play near any game at Ultra without any FPS drops or whatever…
WHY does Grim Dawn drops to ~30fps at some locations??
I mean? wtf…?
This game is a few years old and my PC is top notch
I’ve deactivated anything that could disturb the graphics setting in the NVidia control panel.
I’ve testet it without AA or AF, or without VSync/Triple Buffer.
In a few areas i got over 140fps. Then a few enemies spawn or i leave the dungeon: 30-50fps.
Nothing really works…

About the Screen flickering:
Best visible when i pause the game and go the the options menu.
The screen flickers as it would try to adjust the gamma or light settings.
bright-normal-bright-normal… rapidly. and anytime this happens, the fps drop to 30 and go up again.
But i can see it at any point of the game. A slight flickering. Drives me crazy!
Tested it in borderless mode and fullscreen mode.

Additional informations:

  • I always run Steam, Chrome and some other launchers in the background.
  • I’ve a very clean Win10 distribution with any possible driver updated.
  • The October-Win10-Creators-Update is NOT installed yet.
  • I use MSI Afterburner, but only for the GPU Fan control.
  • Avira Antivirus Professional Edition with live scanner (NO issue with any game until… now…)

Are these known problems?
Does this game have some known issues with AMD? Or G-Sync?
Please help… :undecided:

Yeah, im in the same boat.
4790k, gtx1080 etc
getting a slideshow in crucible dlc
nothing seem to fix it

Not only in Crucible. Anywhere… :undecided:

Well yeah, but everywhere else it drops atleast to 30 for me.
In crucible it’s close to 10

Some things to share after i tested a few details yesterday:

° It seems, that NVidias Experience or Shadowplay do have something to do with this issue. --> Deactivate it see what happens
° It’s extremely dependent of the ingame location. --> Devil’s Crossig is the worst for me
° VSync/Triple Buffer changes nothing at all.
° Fullscreen / Boderless Window changes nothing at all (for me)

Further testings are in progress.
I don’t bought a 4k RIG to enjoy low fps in an “old” game…

I get 1-15 fps for the last 2 weeks but before that I was getting over 100 fps. Have over 100 hours on the game before this started happening.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080
Windows 10 Home 64-bit
AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT 12-Core Processor (24 CPUs), ~4.0GHz
32768MB RAM
DirectX 12
C27FG7x 1920 x 1080(p) (143.981Hz)

Have tried changing the settings from low to ultra and no change.
