Taking multiple Default Attack Replacers (DAR) is a mistake I know I made when picking up the game with a Commando. I recall seeing a couple beginners on Reddit or these forums who had somewhat similar issues, wasted skill points in a second DAR.
Making these skills mutually exclusive would prevent beginners from making this mistake.
Default Attack Replacer - Only one Default Attack Replacer can be used at a time.
A quick search on GT seems to indicate that there isn’t really any build which use two DAR, so this wouldn’t have an impact at a higher level.
However there are two aspects to the beginner error discussed:
- Failing to understand that one has to equip and use the DAR;
- And thus thinking that taking multiple ones causes their effects to stack.
The first aspect is pretty well taken care of in the skill description:
When used as your default weapon attack, [Skill] …
So this suggestion only makes sense if there is some amount of newer players who have two DAR levelled up, and have either or both unequipped.
It’s very possible that this population is so tiny that the suggestion doesn’t make sense! In fact, it could also hinder experimentation if one wants to try out both skills and doesn’t really care about wasting points: “Oh, maybe Righteous Fervor will feel better than Cadence”.
If the problem does exist but allowing experimentation is still important, then maybe some manner of warning could work.
You already use Cadence as a Default Attack Replacer. Righteous Fervor is a different skill that will not add a bonus to Cadence.
(Well, the warning would probably be better worded)
