The title might sound a bit confusing but let me explain my suggestions. Basically, totems (wendigo and storm) have very low range and they are spawned at a specific spot. However, when I am in a battle, I usually prefer to hold Shift to avoid my character being moved mistakenly. Unfortunately, since totems have pretty short range, I have to bring the mouse pointer closer to my character for them to spawn whereas my other skills, with higher range, needs to be executed at a farther point. This is often a bit annoying as if my mouse is out of range for the totem, it will not spawn.
My suggestions is to make it so that totems will spawn at the farthest location of the direction of the mouse pointer, if the pointer is out of range. This should only trigger while holding Shift and also to appease everyone, I will suggest this to be a toggle option.
This is a good suggestion. When you try to cast totem above the cast range, char tries to walk there(risk of death) which is very unwanted/frustrating.
I like the idea a lot, but i don’t think it can / need to be a toggle option since you’ll basically “toggle” it by using hold position (shift) or not.
I mean if you’re deliberatelly clicking to cast any spell (with or without shift) you’ll never want to have a “nothing happens” scenario. Not holding shift already moves your char (if needed) so it will be cast at the exact point where you clicked.
So +1 to the idea, all that i’m saying is that making it a toggle option would be redundant imho.
I really like this idea. If my mouse cursor is at the edge of the screen, for example, I can’t think of a scenario in which I wouldn’t want a totem to spawn not at my cursor location but much closer to me in that direction.
