Making all 5pc mono-class sets good in crucible.

This is something I noticed after I saw Fluff’s Uroboruuk build. I think Crate is trying to make all 5 pc mono-class legendary sets (Markovian, Uroboruuk, etc.) good in crucible (talking 170 here). Maybe I’m wrong, and if I am, then consider this as a suggestion, cause I definitely support the idea.

Markovian and Iskandra were already good since the start, Runebinder had some builds with 4 pieces (no weapon) that could clear crucible. With 1.0.5.0, we see buffs to all the others, Uroboruuk received some important buffs to skill mods, Ulzuin too. Dreeg got its proc back, getting good old DEE WB back to the top. Deathmark and Ultos also received some buffs to resistances and maybe this is a sign of them all being brought to the spotlight.

I would love for each of these sets to be what I think of them to be, and if the previous patch is any indication, then we’re going to the right direction.

Brb, will try to make 5 pc Runebinder work.

Cough (Belgo-not mono class but still)

Full DM. Tough chance beyond 150.

So is Ultos, and maybe Ulzuin and runebinder, though Cmak recently had a 4pc Ulzuin build.

Yeah but it’s pretty risky at 170 and only purifier can pull it off.

I didn’t know about Ultos and full runebinder (only did 4pc) having trouble after 150. I’d imagine Ultos, especially PS needs to abuse 2x stalwart rings of readiness/drang/protection, Mi belt with same, or crafted and maybe medal too. For reliable farming

I tried Ultos Savagery Vindicator back in 0.4 with 3.8k DA and I couldn’t do 170. I could reach 170 on a good day but that last wave just sucked. The problem is when you start kiting you’re dead cause no lifesteal and movespeed sucks even with Word of renewal. I also heard mad lee druid can only go up to 160, though I don’t know if he tried to go for double mirrors and/or high DA.

I think druid ultos with star pact TD and maxed mirror could be the only reliabe way. Emphasis on “could” because with Star Pact you don’t know if you have have enough dmg to make 2x mirror count. If it does, the expcepton doesn’t make the rule ofc. 2h melee is hard

Other than that, a Warder with like 4.2-4.5K DA stalwart of cheese…maybe

Edit: Vindicator is tricky with melee. Seal does not work well with caster/medium armor (irony-the ones who need it the most), but works great with heavy armor. Warder yould have the % armor extra and Warcry at least. Might have a better shot with it.

DM set could definitely use some buffs, the weapons are quite weak nowadays and it gives very little HP/DA.

As for making it viable for Crucible, it’s not going to happen unless you have like perfect MIs in multiple slots that make up for DW weaknesses.
Problem isn’t with the set but with DW melee inherently which isn’t suited for all the stuff 170 throws at you, but that’s another topic.

Yeah both 2h and dw melee have bg problems that it’s hard to make the sets work in crucible even if you buff them.

On the other hand, runebinder suffers from an identity crisis where you don’t know if you want Runic bolts wps or runes or both. It’s got an innate 28% cdr though so it shouldn’t be too hard to get mirror chaining without much investment aside fron devotions.

Dagallon seemingly has the same identity crisis. I think they just wanted to make some set with which you can choose totally different play styles. Dedicated auto attack, full caster, auto attack with a bit of casting support.
