Market place: Purpose of check boxes in market place?

Hello. What is the purpose of the check boxes at the market.
Here in this example I have some boxes ticked others not.
But items are available here regardless. (By the way I have never changed anything here)

So what effect do these check boxes have?

Are people still adding to the pile while it’s unchecked? That might be a bug.
However I find that if I uncheck an item that’s already stocked it takes a reeeally long time for it to get cleared from the inventory.

I have never changed any setting for market place or other storage. So all items here have been added to the market place allthough it was unchecked.

Checked items are supposed to be allowed to be stocked there. Unchecking an item that is already in stock should still allow that item to be used by anyone who needs it, but until we can manually move things around, I see no easy way to remove those items from inventory to free up space for what you might want there. I usually leave everything checked though as the Market should be gathering everything the homes need for daily life in addition to upgrades.

A better question would be why are luxury items unchecked by default? I don’t normally look at the market, but did yesterday and saw the same behavior. The boxes were unchecked by default, but those items were still stocked. Makes me wonder if this was the issue on a previous save were everyone always griped about wanting luxury items, even though I was producing tons.

I see this in my market as well. I uncheck everything other than Luxury goods, and yet the market keep refilling with medicine. Even after 1 year.
I also find that the market doesnt stock up on luxury goods; and I build like 6 storehouses nearby. They just grab like 1 or 2 luxury goods items, and stick to that.

Unchecking food seems to work though

It happens when upgrading Market to Market Square

That happens when upgrading market to T2 when your people still cant have it in their homes. Dont know whether they get it or not over time. I think only when they become T3 houses.
