Mechanical questions about retaliation added to attack

Looking forward to FG and playing as a retaliation sentinel but I had a few questions about how retaliation added to attacks will work. Maybe some/all of these have been answered, not really sure.

  1. Will the portion of retaliation that gets added to an attack scale with retaliation modifiers, or is it added as base damage to the attack so that it scales with attack damage? I’m assuming it won’t double dip and scale with both retaliation mods and attack mods, because dang.

  2. Can retaliation damage crit? The only reason I ask this is because it can’t in D3 or PoE (well, it’s called reflected damage in PoE but it operates in much the same way). Like, say you do an attack and you have 25% of your retaliation added to it and that attack crits. Does the crit multi apply to the entire hit or just the non-retaliation portion?

I assume it can crit if it works like % Wpn Damage.

Whoops, I could have sworn I looked through the game guide. Guess I missed this bit.

Retaliation damage added to attack is the same as Weapon damage, but affects retaliation instead of regular damage.

Can retaliation damage be converted though?

yes

Okay another question about retaliation damage, and this time I actually checked the game guide and didn’t see it :stuck_out_tongue: : Is retaliation damage mitigated by resists/armor/etc. or does it bypass those things?

Seeing that you can easily stack up to 200,000 retal damage on some builds, I should hope that resists mitigate it.

If it did not work that way, some builds would have even 600k DPS. Ravager in few seconds.
