I have a question about the mechanics behind augments on weapons.
If I’m dual wielding NB and I apply Shard of Beronath, does the augment & proc affect both weapons or only the one it’s affixed to?
The % Total damage & % Weapon damage as well as the rest?
I guess what I’m trying to ask is should I place it on the highest damage weapon, or does it matter?
Thanks
So the first part of the component
description reads:
-10% Physical Damage converted to Elemental Damage
-+18% Total Damage
-8 Elemental Damage
This would only apply to the weapon it’s attached to?
And the proc would apply to both weapons?
Beronath’s Fury
-+114% Weapon Damage
-+20% Total Damage
-+40% Elemental Damage
-33 Elemental Damage
-7 Charge Levels
-1.5 Second Charge Duration
-8 Energy Cost
Beronath’s Fury is not a proc, it’s an auto attack replacer. Meaning it’s an ability you use in place of the normal weapon attack, that can trigger WPS as normal and stacks with them.
If you’re dual wielding with Beronath’s Fury, hits from both weapons work with it.
Conversion stacks universally, it is not tied to the weapon it is affixed to.
Total damage stacks universally (additively!) but flat damage applies to the weapon the component is attached to. You would get 16 total elemental damage from 2 shards, not 32.
So say you have a weapon with 15% phys-elem conversion, another with 15% phys-fire conversion, and apply shards to both. Your total conversion would be 35% phys-elem and 15% phys-fire. Due to the way conversion applies, this total conversion value would apply to damage dealt by either/both weapons.
Similarly, the way % damage modifiers are applied means that the source of the % damage is irrelevant, it all adds up and then applies to damage being dealt by either/both weapons.
Only some mods are applied only to weapon they’re located at - flat damage bonuses, Weapon Effects (ADCTH, various on-hit effects, etc) and armour piercing. All others are global, and apply to anything regardless if they’re placed on weapon or not. In this case, “8 elemental damage” is applied only to that weapon’s attacks (cause it’s flat damage), and the rest apply to everything.
First, it isnt a proc. It’s an active skill. When you use it, it will use both weapons, just as normal attack does.
