I would use paysafecard too, and really… paysafe is the safest way to pay you can get, just go to a nearby gasoline and ask for paysafe for 10/20/30 euro and you get a code which you just have to type in a mask to do the payment.
No own informations involved, no problems with countries and it is very fast! You don’t have to wait 3 days for the charging of the wirecard.
There is another one payment processing that probably will be interesting: ukash.com - it is available in less “common” countries. If you did not consider it yet it is worth to look at.
U-kash and Paysafe Cards offer ways to have rechargeable with their tickets debit cards that should work like the prepaid cards do, since you need to enter your address to create your card and they send it to you by post
I know it is awfull to have to pay the added fees ,but if you are really eager that would be an option too and it could be used anywhere you would need a credit card too always being able to refund your cards with Ukash or Paysafe codes
I admit to not having read the entire thread (just had surgery on an eye so I’m skimming while trying to feed my internet addiction)… but UKASH rocks!
You go to a variety store (can find one via their webpage and putting in yoru postal code/what not) and you can ask them to sell you a voucher (nothing more than a receipt) with a UKASH # on it… then you input the # in the game’s payment section… quite simple, no credit card, annonymous… and can buy something like 20/50/75/100/150$ vouchers… don’t have to use all in one spot… (I use mine to play poker without giving credit card info).
it’s extremely convenient and reliable, had some issues previously but the management handled it brililantly.
I live in a rural part of Ontario and it’s made life so much easier re: playing online games, or buying things on line.
Extra point:
The problem with UKASH is that some of the stores (at least here in Ontario) that have it don’t know they have it/what it is… you can print out a document from the UKASH site that will take the variety store worker through the simple steps… it’s literally no more than buying phone minutes to top up your card/phone.
That’s it. Ukash is important for it’s ability to get cash. Credit card owners are able to pay with their cards directly but Ukash gives an ability to pay for those potential customers who do not have credit cards or whos credit cards are not accepted by processings.
That’s not a problem to me personally to pay with CC (I did it already actually) but there are really many people who can’t do that. I also can’t say how much Ukash wants as a processing fee but it should be easy to learn directly from them. As I know they are quite welcome to new clients so it could possibly open the whole new class of customers adding them if they do processing for unfinished projects.
I’m sure you could buy prepaid visa cards as well. Just go to Walgreens and pick up a Vanilla prepaid gift card. You can put as much as you want on it and then use that to pay.
I agree with other comments suggesting a pre-paid Visa. Quite honestly it’s not worth any effort for Crate to support all sorts of different options when it’s extremely easy for someone to walk into any number of stores and grab a pre-paid Visa off the shelf.
Is any problem with paysafecard? I used it for lot of payments with no problems, so in my opinion is PSC great payment possibility for support Grim Dawn. Crate guys, what do you think about paysafecard?
Have you thought about having Zong as an alternative payment option?
It’s really easy to use for us who don’t have a credit card number.
I used this to buy King Arthur’s Gold in it’s alpha state (I read one of the reason paypal doesn’t “work” is because the game is in pre alpha)
Basicly, when you chose Zong as payment option, you’re asked to give them you mobile phone number, then you get a Sms with a pincode and some basic text (What you’re buying and how much it’ll cost) after that you just type in the pincode into a field in your browser and press like “confirm” then the money will be drawn from your mobile and transferred to Crate.
Here is an idea.
I know Grim Dawn has fans all over the world.
now, as for the fans in the united states - I think most people in the united states have a credit card. over here in europe this is less common.
the solution for this is the mentioned paysafe and ukash vouchers.
I don’t need to use them as I do have a ‘normal’ credit card, but I noticed you can buy the mentioned vouchers in €10 / €25 / €50 values.
now, here is a thought. why not make a grim dawn package that costs €25
does need to be in euro’s because of fluctating euro/dollar conversions and to avoid an addition charge for currency conversion.
This grim dawn package needs to be the standard $18 package plus something extra. (look at the higher packages for what can be added to make a fair deal).
That way people that want to buy this game can buy an $25 voucher, use it to buy Grim Dawn and be done with the voucher
probably is a bit of work for crate to offer something in euro’s - but when people buying your game give you €25 instead of $18, that should be worth some additional work.
The problem is in the amount of money mobile provider keep when using this payment way. The merchant receives 50% at most. There is also an issue with relatively large prices (“large” means anything above $10 - higher prices usually just don’t exist).
I’d rather consider http://www.mopay.com/en/ - looks like a really interesting solution, don’t know their commission rates though.
It was related to post about Zong Sorry for possible confusion.
